“….If others are doing it, we might as well see what all the ‘fun’ is.” Gerome grabbed a watermelon, walking a bit to place it on a table that had been set up, looking over at the girl. “And I’d prefer it if you didn’t call me ‘Prince Gerome’.”
“Oh, um… S-sorry…! It’s force of habit! I, um–!”
She trails off before her big mouth can get her into even more trouble, and trails after the wyvern rider with cheeks aflame. Talk about a royal faux-pas… Lucina had never seemed to mind being addressed by her title! Then again, maybe the princess was too polite to say anything. Great. Now Irene’s going to be worrying about it all day.
Still… There’s no time to be worrying while Gerome is setting up for them!
“I-it’s almost too pretty to smash up,” Irene muses, running a hand along the cool green rind, “I wonder how we’d go about this without breaking the table, now that I think about it– I suppose that means an axe and a lance are out… Perhaps some kind of club?”
“Don’t get stressed out over it, I just.... I don’t like being acknowledged with that title. Its unnecessary.” He looked at the girl, shaking his head slightly as he pitched his idea to smash the watermelon.

“Hey! Don’t touch her!” Gerome stood between the girl’s hand and the wyvern. The male groaned, putting his own hand on her snout. “Her name is Minerva, and I’d appreciate it if you didn’t touch her without asking first.”
Prince Gerome:
“Watermelon smashing, huh. How is that entertaining? Wouldn’t that just get messy?” He secretly wants to try it.
“It seems like a waste of food, more than anything. But I suppose if people are having fun with it… Would you like to give it a try, Prince Gerome? Perhaps over a table, so we might actually try some of the fruit itself?”

“…I can get it myself, thank you.” Gerome’s face shone a bright red, moving his hand quickly to brush away the bug before his mother could. “There’s no reason for you to speak to me, Cherche.”
“Please, Gerome, the purpose of being here is to unwind.” Cherche chided, taking a seat. “Besides, I know how bad you skin can get in this kind of weather. Especially if you take after me.” She pulled a bottle of sunscreen out of her bag. “Please tell me you’ve put some on.”
“Of course I have, I’m not an idiot.” Gerome sighed, sitting down on the sand, legs crossed. He looked over at the pink haired woman, actually wondering in his mind how someone like Chrom managed to marry a woman so…. Pretty.
“You don’t have to treat me as if I’m a child.”
“No, and even though you aren’t my child from this time line, it doesn’t stop me from worrying about you. As much as you might tell me that I don’t need to.” She couldn’t help her concern, as hostile as he could be. It had been odd finding out that she’d marry the Ylissian prince from both Gerome and Lucina, but she wanted the best for her family.
She looked him over before glancing back out at the sea. “I worry far too much and I doubt that’s going to stop.”
“….” Gerome stayed silent, watching his friends be idiots in the water. Trying not to take into heart what Cherche was saying, the blue haired male groaned heavily, looking over at her.
“I…. I appreciate it, Ch-Cherche.” The boy’s face flushed with embarrassment as he looked down, his thumbs seeming much more entertaining.
I just want a brighter future. I can deal with any hardship now in exchange.
