"don't assign human morality to non human things" is so true except when it comes to printers. they know what they are, they understand dilemmas and ethics and morality. they choose to be how they are, they choose to be evil, at their very core they are rotten

It's easy to stay motivated to get outside and go places when Guillermo del Toro is walking behind you, pushing you forward with his psychic powers.

“Before you didn’t have me.”
Carol Danvers in Avengers: Endgame (2019)
One of the virtues of forum culture is that the extreme longevity of some forums allows types of drama to develop that simply wouldn't be possible otherwise. I once saw a man in his thirties get banned from a forum because he mentioned an upcoming birthday, and one of the mods did the math and realised that he'd lied about being over thirteen when he initially registered in 2003.
Wait, that’s like… years before the law requiring 13 year olds to have limited tracking. That law is from well after Facebook started.
COPPA passed in 1998. While strictly speaking the relevant portions of the law only concern the collection of personally identifying information about individuals under the age of thirteen, many forums barred individuals under thirteen entirely, due to worries that the law would create a de facto obligation for forum moderators to continuously monitor posts made by individuals under thirteen for voluntary disclosure of personal information and redact it where present.

i personally think its pretty crazy that karl marx actually knew what was gonna happen to us back in 1850 like this guy comes out of nowhere at what the fuck o'clock and goes, capitalism is going to creep into every single crevice of your lives there will be nothing left and all creativity and integrity will be taken away like. he just said that and it was correct
The thing that makes Abed such important autistic representation imo is NOT that he's some amazing perfect unproblematic portrayal because lmao no but it's like. He was created by a guy who didn't know what he was representing at first and didn't know what that meant about himself, and he listened when people talked about Abed being autistic and he did research, but he also was clearly struggling with a lot of issues and I think internalised ableism. So like Abed's portrayal has the perfect mix of grasping for acceptance and sometimes reaching it very well but other times missing the mark and being so full of terrible assumptions, but they are assumptions that are true to life for an autistic person to be faced with. And then audience reactions to him tell you a lot about their views on real life autistic people, pretty reliably. And it's like sometimes it's very painful to watch but that's because of the gut-wrenching accuracy of how people treat him and how he treats himself sometimes.
And ALSO because Danny Pudi is an amazing actor who from the things he's said about it seemed to come at the task with deep compassion and a personal understanding of what it's like to be different from everyone around you, albeit in a different context
"I hate when the skeletons on decorations aren't anatomically accurate." A Halloween skeleton isn't the same as what's inside you, idiot. It's different. A Halloween skeleton is, like. A guy or something. It's an animal.
If Halloween skeletons had bones like ours instead of hollow bones like that of a bird, they wouldn't be able to play their ribcages like xylophones. You sound so fucking uneducated right now.
hes always putting himself through some kind of tribulation

Oh my God, two whole years have passed! We have witnessed what no human being could have imagined.
We have witnessed childhood wrapped in cardboard... and meat divided by the kilo. We have witnessed all the contradictions, and what breaks the heart and tears the soul apart. We have witnessed the support of the people. We have witnessed cowardice, shame, and the fall of leaders and presidents.
Two years, and the bitterness and extent of their physical, psychological, and visual destruction still remain. For that to change, a miracle is needed.
Yes, we have lived as if a stone is being rolled off your chest...
Two whole years that cannot be contained in a film, cannot be borne by stories, and cannot be sufficed by memory.
Two years in which we asked God that when we die... we all die at once.
Two years have passed, and we still need to repair our minds, hearts, homes, streets, schools, and infrastructure, and, most importantly, to feed those whose dream was a piece of bread that they only get every now and then and that is never enough for everyone.
Two years of these difficult days have passed, and every day we are saved by a miracle. But what I remember most on a personal level, the one ray of hope when everything was dark, is you, my friends.
Thank you for saving us.
Thank you for your humanity and your struggle for us.
Thank you for your living consciences and pure hearts.
Thank you for crying over us, expressing your feelings for us, staying up late following our news, worrying about what was happening to us, and praying for us.
Thank you for your demonstrations and pressuring decision-makers in your countries on our behalf.
Thank you for your generous moral support.
Thank you very much for your donations. Without you, I would not have been able to feed my children and buy them clothes and shoes. Without you, I would not have been able to leave the dangerous areas, even at the last moment. Without you, I would not have been able to build a tent over the rubble of our destroyed home and rebuild it after we were bombed again. Miraculously, we survived.
We will remain indebted to you until the last day of our lives, and we remember you.
We remember people who did not know us personally, but who fought so that we might live in dignity, with all their strength, courage, and determination.
Your friend and brother in humanity,

The war has stopped and we are still alive and hopeful that we can rebuild our lives. We lost our home, on which we spent everything we could save. I deprived myself and my children of many things in order to build our home, and now it is a pile of rubble, but I still have hope that I can build a new home, even if it is of a modest standard.
Today, my children and I were walking in the market and my children saw chickens. We have not eaten chicken for almost half a year, but unfortunately I could not buy them chicken because its price is very, very expensive. Unfortunately
we have not received any donations for a while, so please, my friends, try to help us and donate to us if you can and share our post so that it reaches everyone. I trust you, my friends, so please stand by us.

There are no schools, no education. They were excellent in their studies, and now there is no future.
What they are thinking most about now is when will Dad bring us chicken and meat like the rest of the children?
I am really desperate because private education is very very expensive.
Please don't leave us, share our post and donate to us as much as you can.
