If Virgil and Deceit were buddy buddy in the past and Deceit manipulated him and treated him horribly… that puts the New Years Lies video in a whole new light.

They’re lying to themselves, and he can feel it. He knows it all too well. He has to stop it, he has to end it before it really begins so HE doesn’t come up. No, no, no. Stop the lies. So he puts on his dark, scary, mean persona yet again.

Because if Deceit came up then… he would see little Anxiety trying pathetically to be friends with these people. He would see how weak he was, how he couldn’t really be a Dark Side. He would try to bring Virgil back.

And Virgil doesn’t know if he can go through that again.
