After Ron leaves the Ministry for Weasleyâs Wizard Wheezes, he and George figure out how to replicate the Marauders Map.
Rather than putting their own personalities into the map they use Fredâs. Not only does it do all the things the original map did, but it also has a habit of suggesting even more hilarious pranks than itâs owners have planned.
Every year they give ONE Fred Weasley Memorial Marauders Map to the Hogwarts student who sends them the best proposal for an epic prank with the understanding that they will return it after graduating.. There are only seven in existence at any given time replaced only when confiscated or destroyed.
When Minerva McGonagall finds the first one she storms into the shop and demands that they stop handing them out, even though the map has said several very flattering things to her as she attempted to use it.
Ron has a better idea.
And that is how Minerva McGonagall gets her own Marauders Map, to be handed down dutifully to every successive Headmaster or Headmistress of Hogwarts.
And hundreds of years after the Battle of Hogwarts, professors are still getting dungbomb booby trapped by the Weasley twins.
after the war - ron
In the bleakest of moments, Ron thought he had lost two brothers in one day. Though Harry had a miraculous escape from death, Fred, however, had not.
He helped them line up the bodies for identification. Held the hands of families as they came to take their children home for the last time. But found himself somewhere else when it was time to move Fred.Â
He had to be strong. George could grieve, his Mum and Dad could grieve, Bill and Ginny and Charlie and hell even Percy could grieve, but not him. Someone needed to keep the Weasleys afloat and that was Ron. That was always Ron.
He didnât have time to grieve. There was work to do.
After the funeral, everyoneâs funeral, Mcgonagall found him with one of Filchâs brooms, sweeping rubble into a pile in the Gryffindor Common Room. She almost asked him what he thought he was doing before she transfigured her robes and joined him. Ron was pleased to see even her trousers were emerald green.
Others came in and out, each of the Weasleys helped in their own time, he saw Lee Jordan and Oliver Wood arguing about bludger etiquette while repairing a staircase. Even Tonksâ Mum and Dad came, they brought Teddy, Teddy with whom Ron shared a secret with that he couldnât tell anyone else yet. He swore his hair changed to an even lighter shade of blue as he giggled.
Only Ron and Mcgonagall where there every day. Every day. For a year.
Ron went home to the Burrow to make sure everyone was eating and to Grimmauld Place to make sure Harry hadnât become part of the wallpaper and spent nights with Hermione in her flat but whenever he came back Mcgonagall was already there. Heâd convinced himself that she never left.
âYouâll be Headmistress. Next September.â He told her, with a voice too certain to be argued with and even though she tried to seem displeased he saw her smile beneath her frown.
He invited the Gryffindor boys out for a pub lunch, Harry was a no show, but it was just as well, Ron had already booked the table for four. Neville looked well, Ron realised how much heâd changed in the year that himself, Harry and Hermione were on the run. His shoulders didnât collapse in on themselves, he laughed wildly, even took the mick out of Seamus. Ron guessed thatâs what flipping the bird to the dark lord and beheading a horcrux snake with a legendary sword did to your confidence.Â
Not to mention Dean and Seamus. Ron couldnât contain his excited glances at Neville every time they so much as looked at each other let alone held hands or shared a quick kiss as one of them left the table. âWhen did this start? Officially?â Ron asked to which Dean answered âThe second we climbed through that portrait.â Without needing any clarification as to what Ron was asking. âYouâre welcome.â Neville added over his pint.
Ronâs heart swelled. He had to hold his hand over it to stop it from pumping out of his chest. But it awakened something in him that heâd forgotten. Something very important that heâd been pushing down.
He returned to the Burrow. Made two cups of tea. And talked to Fred.
His brother hadnât appeared as a ghost, heâd checked every inch of Hogwarts, he was sure of it. But that didnât mean Ron couldnât feel him. He noticed him every day. Even when he tried not to. The echo of laughter. A whisper over his shoulder. A gust of wind that whipped his hair over his face. âYouâre right, I need a haircut.â He said to the empty chair across from him.Â
George found him like that, a tear rolling down his cheek, and joined him. Then Molly. Then Ginny. Until every Weasley was sat around the table. Including the one in the empty chair. They talked to Fred and about him. And slowly, without anyone noticing, the clock moved Fred âhomeâ.
May came around and all the repairs were done. The castle would never look like it used to but it was in one piece and it was steady. Strong. Ready to welcome hundreds of new students in September. Theyâd be playing catch up for the first few years but everything would be sorted soon enough.Â
Ron met Harry in the Great Hall, still not quite believing that heâd come at all, but quickly led him away from the crowd with a promise of a surprise. âStand here.â Ron ordered once theyâd reached the courtyard, placing Harry in front of the fountain. âRevelio.âÂ
The facade fell away to reveal a monument. A tribute to the fallen. âRon, I- Itâs too much my Mum and Dad. What about everyone-âÂ
âThatâs funny.â Ron interrupted. âI can only see Fred.â
âIt changes depending on who and when you look at it.â Heâd explained to Mcgonagall months earlier. âWhoever they need to see the most at any time, thatâs who theyâll see.â
âWhenever Iâm feeling my weakest, I see Colin. And when I need hope I see Lupin and Tonks. But mostly Fred. Always Fred.â
The enchantment had taken months. For the whole of January it was stuck on Aragog. (You had to mourn the spider, Hagrid.) But it was going to be so worth it, even just to make Harry Potter cry for only the second time in a year.
Mcgonagall pulled him aside once theyâd revealed the statue to everyone. Harry was laughing through his tears now, unable to stop what seemed like a never-ending flow. âWe did that.â Ron spoke as he looked out at all the faces both flesh and stone.
âNo, Professor Weasley. You did that.â
âProfessor?â
âYouâll be teaching Transfiguration. Next September. Now come along and help me convince Potter to teach Defence Against the Dark Arts. Curses bounce off that boy.â
Well, thought Ron, eyes welling up as he grinned, thereâs work to do.
Marauders' Christmas Present
*probably Christmas morning in 1995*:
Remus: *cocking an eyebrow at a laughing Sirius who's practically rolling on the floor* Can anyone tell me who just broke Sirius?
Ron: *grinning* Hermione did.
Remus: *frowning* Hermione? What in the world did she do to him?
Harry: *smirking* It's not what she did to Sirius. It's more like what she did to Snape.
Remus: Why? What did she do?
Harry: She set him on fire in our first year. And as you can see, Sirius is still unable to stop himself from laughing.
Remus:
Harry:
Remus:
Ron:
Hermione: *scowling* Great. Now you two broke Remus as well.
*somewhere in Heaven*:
Lily: Oh, for Merlin's sake James, STOP LAUGHING, YOU IDIOT! It's not even THAT funny.
James: *howling in laughter* But it is! She - set - Snivellus - on - HAHAHAHAHA!!!
they would, and they did.
Broke: Remus did his friendsâ homework while at Hogwarts because heâs the smart one.
Woke: Remus Lupin is a mess of a person who could never do his own homework. He would copy off of his friends and random strangers, but, being smart, he would correct their work while he cheated and tell them they were wrong.
there are certain characters/families in the Harry Potter canon that are described as having fair or pale skin, the Potter line isnât one of them. Harry and James both have canonically jet-black untidy hair but no canon ethnicity. Harry has âgreat skinâ.
#draw harry any race u want just pimple free
I think itâs funny when people make Remus be composed and ~cool because
Guy was a mess?
He dropped what he was holding when Harry asked him about Sirius.
He started screaming(?) and showing around pictures of baby Teddy when Molly and Ginny started fighting.
He ran away on his wife because he was scared.
He left his wife and child at home to fight.
He was impulsive and had no chill.
Itâs Harryâs fault.
Like Harry looks at Professor Lupin and heâs like, âThis is an extremely cool and put-together adult and someone whose attitudes and behavior I should absolutely emulate in order to Be An Adult.â
And part of the fandom is all like, âHmm, yes, this is clearly the picture of Composed Put-Together Adulthood and not a disaster human at all.â
Plus Remus is often seen standing next to Sirius. And like, Remus is a bit of a dumpster fire? But Sirius is more of an explosion in a dumpster factory.
(I say this with enormous love for both of them.)
Also Remus is trying so HARD to be composed and cool. Heâs a mess, but heâs like âI will be polite an unassuming and not lose my cool because I will be THE exemplar werewolf.â *ten minutes later* âoh fuck. oh dear sweet fuck. i just canâtijustcanâtijustcanâtâ
Also, the âwiseâ stuff he says a lot of the time just. Moony no.
âWhat you fear most of all is⊠fearâ
âNo, actually, itâd probably have to be the screaming and the blacking out.â
remus âstun if you canât killâ lupin đ
Every now and then, the Marauders fandom gets upset that James was chosen to be a Head Boy when he wasnât a Prefect.
But of course he was.
It started in the autumn of his fifth year. The fifteen-year-old marched through the corridors, feeling rather important, a badge pinned to his robes.
Filch caught him within the first five minutes. To be fair, James hadnât tried to run. (If he had, he would have gotten away). He had no reason to. Still, the caretaker grumbled threats of torture as he dragged the Chaser to Professor McGonagallâs office.
âPretending to be a Prefect,â Filch snarled.
âIâm not pretending you oldââ James eventually broke off as he realized that there was no use shouting at the lump of clay that was the caretaker. And so, he turned to Professor McGonagall and said, âIâm a temporary Prefect for the night.â
âAre you?â she asked, with a flicker of amusement. âI donât seem to recall appointing you as such.â
âYou know, Siriusâ brother told me something interesting the other day,â James said. âDid you know that if you looked at the night sky, you could see a star that represents them both? Isnât that strange. Look for yourself, Professor.â
And she glanced out the window and saw the stars in question. Right next to the nearly full moon. Her face gave away nothing, but she curtly dismissed the caretaker, who seemed surprised if not furious.
âSurely you want me to stay to deliver the punishment?â Filch asked.
âThere will be no punishment,â Professor McGonagall said curtly. âYou caught a Prefect out of bed. Thatâs not exactly against the rules, is it?â
James could have hugged her.
As soon as the caretaker was gone, she pushed the tin of biscuits towards James. It didnât even need saying at this point. He grinned and took his favorite kind. She always had them.
âI didnât even thinkâŠâ she whispered. âItâs not full for another three days.â
âI know,â said James. âBut heâs really sick this time.â
âHe should have told me,â she said. âI would have given him the time off.â
âYeah, well,â James shrugged. âYou know Remus.â
She smiled; she did indeed.
âDid he brief you on your responsibilities?â the professor asked.
âIf by âbriefedâ you mean âwent into a three-hour lecture on what I should or should not doâ then yeah.â
âYou know that I canât make this official,â Professor McGonagall said. âPeople would talk.â
âNah, I know,â James said.Â
âYou canât brag about this.â
âI know.â
âYou canât abuse your privileges.â
âI know.â
âTake another biscuit.â
He grinned and did so.
âI believe you have work to do,â she said.
James gave her a mock salute and marched away. He performed Remusâ duties all night, never once abusing the power, knowing that doing so would tarnish Remusâ reputation. He performed them the next two nights as well and told a very skeptical Professor McGonagall that he was sick on the night of the full moon. (âOh dear,â she said. âI hope your illness stagnates.â)
Truth be told, James was a Prefect almost as much as Remus was.
They were some of the only times in his term at Hogwarts that he solemnly swore that he wasnât up to no good.
You know before the pandemic I didn't believe a school would stay open if there was a giant deadly snake in the pipes with the potential to kill students. Now I could see it.
Gryffindor: There's 3 ways to do things: The right way, the wrong way, and the Gryf way
Ravenclaw: Isn't that just the wrong way??
Gryffindor: Yes, but it's faster.
Iâm still not over the fact that Hermione Jean Granger managed to snag a famous international quidditch star as her date to the yule ball like. This is the FUNNIEST SHIT. Hermione isnât even into quidditch. She didnât even do anything. Viktor Krum just fell for this 15 year old muggle-born girl who spends all her spare time in the library and had never heard of the most famous quidditch player in the world before her best friends took her to the world cup. AMAZING.
On that note every single boy Hermione has dated in canon is a jock. Amazing.
Half the notes on this post are people asking if Ron counts as a jock and I fucking lose it every time. Ron was more excited about Harry getting on the quidditch team than Harry was.Â
Also Ron was on the quidditch team, so yeah, he definitely counts as a jock.
i feel like Hermione going with Krumb is equivalent to those fanfics where the famous singer falls for the normal girl with glasses who doesnât know who he is
But itâs totally valid though. Like, she doesnât swoon over him being famous. She treats him like any other guy, and I bet he appreciates that
âDid you hear the news? Professor Lupin got a dog!â
âEuphemia and Fleamont Potter tried and failed for many years to bring a child into the world before baby James came along. They were much older, and wealthy, so James grew up in a doting environment without the compromise of siblings, in a home without material limits.â (From Pottermore)
bitches be falling for arrogant villains twice their age with dark pasts and pretty hair. it's me, i'm bitches
Bill, who is your favourite sibling? And why is it Charlie?
Bill: Whyâd I ask.
