So Iâve come to a couple conclusions within the last few weeks.
1. Im not as queer as I thought I was. I am attracted to girls, and gender non-binary femmes- but the attraction is not emotional. So maybe pansexual is not how I identify. Maybe these are more so fantasies?
Any time I had the opportunity to get to know potential partners that were not cis men, the second the idea came that this could be something other than sexual- turned me off, and I reverted to platonic/friendship intentions. LAME RIGHT? I was excitedâŚ. anyway Iâm not sure how I identify in that regard.
2. Iâm not polyamorous. Tried it, not for me. Maybe Iâm too insecure at this stage in my life, and thinking that I couldnât provide everything my partner desires.. makes me feel a way. Or maybe Iâm just monogamous and enjoy having multiple partners during the dating stage and only then.
3. A lot of the insecurities I thought I had overcome.. were really just suppressed. My over all perception of my self worth is trash. So, how do I make this more productive? How do I accept these qualities/ not let my depression hold me back from actively trying to better myself.
4. I run away from friendships when it gets tough. I spent so long enduring so much toxicity and bullshit, that now when I catch a glimpse Iâm out the fucking door. Got into it with one of my closest friends over something foolish, along with built up resentment and I just dipped. I saw her the other day and realized that even though I donât like her, I love her. And you canât abandon family (well you can, and sometimes you have to- but if itâs not broken beyond repair thenâŚ). So I made plans to talk to her. I want to break this cycle before it gets worse.

What to do when you lack discipline
1. Forgive yourself. You arenât perfect. No one is. Recognise that that beating yourself up will only make things worse. Itâs better to forgive yourself and simply move on.
2. Focus on motivation. Without motivation, you canât do anything. Hence maintaining motivation is the key concept here. When things get tough, remind yourself of why you want to do this â for motivation is more powerful than self-discipline.
3. Make it easy. Discipline is tough so remove some obstacles. For example, if youâre having a hard time exercising, make it super easy, by only exercising for 5 minutes. If you can do that for 30 days in a row, youâll have developed an exercise habit!
4. Focus on enjoyment. Itâs hard to push yourself â and to have self-discipline â when you hate doing something, or you see it as a drag. So do whatever you can to create a sense of fun. For example, if you donât like exercise, find some good music, or a workout partner, and focus on that part of the activity.
5. Repeat. Youâll almost inevitably slip up from time to time, no matter how good, and committed, you are. Just get up, get going, and keeping marching straight ahead.
