I really love the wilderness years of Doctor Who. I think from now on when shows get canceled more companies should throw their content to the wolves and watch in horror as the starved fan base go insane and write like a thousand books in five years that irreversibly ruin any semblance of canon, and also make zero sense.

OP i would like to report that the dr who discord im in is now very invested in this. here is our thoughts:

consensus so far: we are reasonably confident this is not classic who. no-one recognises it and no-one can come up with a classic who story it would make sense as a part of. personally i have no sense of recognition.

it has a late 80s/90s vibe. if Dr Who we think very late or perhaps it's a re-done bit of VFX off a DVD. Nothing from Late Dr Who jives with this. Battlefield has been proposed and rejected on the grounds that we don't think it has any horses in it.

it's also been suggested that it might be from a 90s Dr Who fan film.

someone in the notes has pointed out that they look like Mounties. if so I am certain no Mounties ever appeared in Classic Who.
