If someone told you that for the first time, you'd start seeing color at a volleyball game, you would never believe them.
You'd been going to volleyball games since you were little, your sister played for as long as you could remember.
That being said, here you were. You could finally start going to her games at Karasuno High School for free, as a first year at the school. That was pretty good motivation to go more often.
You showed up early to the event, and saw the other game that was up before hers. That game was the Karasuno boys team.
They were on the second set, having already took the first one. You couldn't lie, they were really good. You started cheering for the plays they made, getting excited and hoping that they would win.
Their libero caught your eye, of course his jersey was a different color but you could tell he loved the sport. His dedication to get the ball, and his hair was cool too.
It was their turn to serve, and he was looking around and made eye contact with you. And then everything became blindingly bright, colors popping up seemingly at random around you, and then his figure lit up too. 'he's pretty' is all you thought.
This guy is your soulmate? Even though you had a million thoughts going through your head, so did he. But you weren't on the court.
Next thing you knew, he got smacked square in the nose with the ball, and his nose started bleeding. You started laughing, with him looking up at you confused, but smiling at your laughter.
You decided to make your way down to the court, that way you could wish your sister good luck and meet the man on the court.
There was a man who tried to stop you, saying that only the athletes could be down there. "What's your name then, kid?"
"F/n l/n, sir. My sister is down here." You could tell you didn't have to mention your sister, it seemed he already knew one you said your last name.
Once you made it past there, you found the number 4 sitting down, and as soon as he heard your foot steps, he looked your way. 'his hair looks cooler in color' you thought.
"H-hi" he stuttered out. You giggled, it wasn't really that funny, but something about his struggle to find a single word amused you.
"Hey" you said with a smile. "I'm y/n, nice to meet you!" You held out your hand. It took him by surprise how casual you were about this, considering you had both just figured out that you were each other's soulmates.
"I'm Yu Nishinoya, nice to meet you?" He took your outstretched hand and shook it. Once again, you laughed a little at his hesitation.
Still slightly chuckling, you asked "How's your nose? That didn't exactly look comfortable".
He made a face, one that looked like a cross between he's about to laugh and he's about to be mad at you. You couldn't quite tell. "It's fine, I think it was worth it. I found you now, didn't I?"
Just to mix things up, you decided to say "I think I found you, actually. I was here to watch the game, you were here to play it."
His nose scrunched up, which he quickly undid and regretted. "Good point, but what do we do now?"
You stood in though for a second, coming to a small solution. "We could just talk for a bit, maybe go grab something to drink after this?"
He was once again taken by surprise at how you did this with so much ease. He just nodded his head. "Yeah, yeah. Sounds good."
You laughed, again, at him. You two exchanged numbers and then you ended off with "I have to go talk to my sister now real quick, talk to you later?" You wished you could just sit and talk forever.
He nodded quickly, "Yup, see and talk to you later y/n!"
You had quite a story to share with your sister now.

It was cold. Really, really cold. It was the dead of winter, and it still hadn't snowed. Not that that was uncommon, but you were hoping for snow. It was your first winter with your boyfriend, and even though you can't control the seasons, you couldn't help but wish for it.
"Hey babe," Ekko walked into the room saying, and with a kiss on your cheek.
"Hi." You said with a smile, one that was bittersweet.
He took notice to that rather quick. "What's up pretty? You look troubled." Why was he so in tune with everything?
You let out a breath. "I just wish it would snow right now. I mean, tomorrow is Christmas. I can't help but want one of those 'romantic white Christmases'". You used air quotes in the last part. You knew it was super cheesy but what else were you supposed to do?
Ekko chuckled, "Babe, it'll be fine either way. I'll be happy either way just knowing I got to spend it with you".
You both smiled, and he kissed you.
When you woke up the next morning, you hurriedly looked out the window, only to be disappointed. "Oh..".
Ekko was just barely waking up, voice rough and laced with sleep. "Everything okay?" He asked.
You turned to him, a somber smile on your face. "Yeah, just still no snow." You walked back over to him, kissing his forehead.
He wore a lazy smile, "Its okay, love. We still have the rest of the day, it's still early."
"Fine, fine." You said with reluctancy. "Can we just relax for a while then?" You asked him.
He held his arm up, and waved for you to go to him. "Who am I to say no to that?"
Needless to say, you both fell asleep. For how long? No one knows. But when you woke up, you were feeling good, and energetic.
In the blink of an eye, you were up and at the window. You screeched with excitement, "Ekko! Come see this! It's snowing! And there's so much!"
You didn't even let him respond, you were pulling him up and out of bed. "Come on, come on!" You reminded him of a 6 year old wanting to open their presents.
You and him threw on sweaters and pants, snow shoes, and went outside. You picked up a handful of snow, just in time for a snowball to be thrown at you from one of the kids.
You pressed the snow into a ball and threw it back, both you and the kid laughing uncontrollably. When you looked back at Ekko, he was just standing there with an adoring smile on his face. Turning around to face him, you grabbed more snow to throw at him. You gave him a quick smile and a quick, "Think fast!" And threw it.
It hit him right in the center of his face.
His face contorted, and he shook the snow off his nose. "Just remember, you started this y/n."
He picked up a huge chunk of snow, pressing it into a ball. Your eyes widened and immediately you tried picking up more snow, but he already was throwing his. You looked up only to have it hit you square in the forehead and be pushed back by the force of it. Your back in the snow, you gave a weak attempt to throw your ball at him.
It did hit him in the chest, but he was walking over to you to pull you up from the snow, just so he could crush snow above your head.
You two were standing barely inches in front of each other, looking into each other's eyes. You leaned in to kiss him, and he kissed you back.
It was slow, soft. Full of love, and unspoken "I love you"s. Time seemed to slow down, and whether it actually did or not couldn't matter less. It felt like just you and him. Nothing else mattered. Just your lips on his, never wanting to stop.
No one was gonna ruin this.
Well, maybe you would.
Grabbing a handful of snow from the ledge to your left, you picked up as much as you could, pulled away from the kiss, and shoved it into his face.
It was in his mouth, eyelashes, brows, all over. And gods, did he make it look perfect.
Ekko was laughing, "You know, I thought we were having a moment y/n."
Smiling, "We were! We still are." You backed up a bit, just in case.
Ekko stopped laughing, and just smiled. "I love you."
Staying where you were, you said "I love you t-" and had a huge snowball chucked at your stomach.

The buzz of UA’s first school dance filled the air in every classroom with excitement. You couldn’t take two steps without over hearing someone whispering about who they or their friends were asking to go as their date. Class 1A was really no different. Some pairings were painfully obvious, such as Deku and Uraraka. You had been there when Deku asked her out and couldn’t help but giggle when she nearly floated away from how flustered she was. Todoroki and Momo were going together, as were Mina and Kirishima (though with those two it’s hard to tell whether or not it was a date). Most of the class had also assumed that you and Kaminari were another for-sure date. However, despite his best efforts, you never noticed how absolutely infatuated he was with you. Why wouldn’t he be?

hi guys! i dont normally make posts like this, but i feel like i need to speak out due to the platform i have on this app. recently, i’m sure you’ve been made aware of the violent and disgusting covid-based hate crimes targeted towards asians lately, not only in america, but pretty much everywhere. this type of behavior towards someone based on their race or ethnicity is absolutely inexcusable and vile. whether the attacks are micro-aggressions or physical assault, it is still harming the asian community and further associating asians with covid-19.
while this post may be informative, i am still white passing, meaning i have not experienced racism targeted towards me before. i can only provide so much information, as i have not been the target of racism-fueled attacks. i highly recommend that you read other resources written by bipoc in order to get a better understanding of what’s happening!
what can you do to help?
firstly, if you see a person getting attacked (verbally, physically, etc.) protect them! calmly intervene if it is safe for you to do so or inform the nearest authority figure near you.
reprimand your peers for their racism! racism comes in all shapes and form; it doesn’t just boil down to hate crimes and slurs. racist stereotypes you may think are ‘jokes’, micro-aggressions, and even drawing harmful assumptions on a person just because of their race are all examples of racism.
amplify asian voices! the asian community is speaking up against the surge of hate crimes, however, a lot of it is covered by media and algorithms! do research, listen to podcasts, watch interviews, repost, etc! the asian community is speaking, we have to listen.
use your privilege for the better. if you are white or white passing, it’s a given that you are born with more privileges based off of your appearance. while this privilege is unfair, we can still use our privileges for the better. if you see someone being discriminated against do not be afraid to speak up and say something! protect anyone you witness being the victim of racism-fueled aggression. use your platform to speak up about hate crimes!!
do not speak over bipoc voices! do not dismiss it if a bipoc person is telling you they would feel more comfortable if you did or didn’t do something; listen if they tell you a certain thing you or another person said or did was racist or wrong; let them use their voice! you can do this by allowing them to speak up on your platform (no matter the size), supporting them if they make a post or statement surrounding their experience as a bipoc, or just by listening to them!
