In the name of the Warrior, I charge you to be brave. In the name of the Father, I charge you to be just. In the name of the Mother, I charge you to protect the young and innocent.

Incredible “saying the most harmful things I can think of to my parents to try to make them feel the way they make me feel” performance from Delainey
can we give her an emmy
Nicki and Lestat had loads of non-sexual intimacy in the books. Loads. Our conversation. Music. Picnics in the orchard. Even the "it's alright, it's alright" was something in the book. Nicki used his music to soothe Lestat at least 2 or 3 times.
The problem is that Rolin Jones doesn't give a shit about Nicki as a character, and only took what he could from Nicki for the sake of fleshing out Louis.
What we thought were parallels were in fact plunder.
I know book Louis needed help, but it shouldn't be to the detriment of other characters.
Both Louis AND Nicki could have been characters that shared non-sexual intimacy. They both could have loved Lestat, and Lestat could have loved both of them.
Nicki died. Lestat could have still loved him and had a meaningful relationship with him AND love Louis.
The show just treated Nicki like a stepping stone, reducing him to his mental illness and that's that.
Here I was thinking we could be more respectful and understanding in 2026.
the very idea that someone could sit down, watch lestat puke while still trying to rationalize the abuse, have a full blown panic attack over it when louis yells that there is no rationalizing this, and then go say it's consensual...that it's not portrayed as abuse...insane...
i also think a lot of people aren't really getting the *point* of louis' reaction. it's extremely harsh and judgmental and completely insensitive to the fact that lestat is being abused, but that is the purpose of it. the entire season is lestat attempting to justify it. this is louis saying that you cannot justify it. there is no rational way to justify that happening. and when lestat has a breakdown over it, they both sort of realize at the same time that this means lestat has been suffering incestuous sexual abuse for 200 fucking years.
it overwhelms lestat, and it clicks for louis. that's when he changes tacts, when he comforts lestat, when he gently tries to help him admit that it's been abuse all along in the bar. it's so realistic, such a necessary sequence.
i think there is unfortunately a knee jerk reaction people have to abuse like this, esp when it's mother/son, where it's just "gross", "weird", or "sick", as louis says. where the child is not taken to be a victim, somehow. i think the show is very honest in having this be louis' initial reaction, until he sees lestat's panic, until he properly thinks it through for a second. and then he gets it, and he feels horrible about what he said. again, it's just all very realistic and bittersweet. everyone involved did an incredible job with this storyline imo.
armand turning into another of my fave black haired villains who i loved but now kinda don't want to see for a while because 99% of fandom insist on woobify him and strip him off all the traits that make him interesting... yeah
If they needed to completely erase Nickistat in order to prop l0ustat up then that ship is not that good in the first place...

Loustaters who hated Nicki and Nickistat because he victim blamed Lestat are really quiet right now
I feel for everyone who isn’t having the time of their fucking lives with The Vampire Lestat. Every week I clap and cheer for the antics of the world’s saddest buzzword-laden bisexual crash-out diva and his crew of the least healed men to ever grace the small screen. The songs are cringe delightfully camp, the wigs are a nightmare, I’m living my best life, I’m loving every second. Why the fuck would you have a blood shower in your tour bus. The onscreen mother-son incest is only like the third wildest thing happening in any given episode. It’s insane. I never want it to end
Sure, let female characters be evil bul also let them have girl moms that woobify them, they deserve the whole fandom experience
and let’s not forget this one too
