Summary: Today, we follow Baby (the nearly grown Owlbear cub) on a secret mission that his Master (Astarion) has entrusted to him. With the help of his Big Brother Scratch, He'll make sure Mistress (Tav) will be safe from celery for a whole year!
Also featuring: Grammy and Grampy (Arnell and Emmeline Hallowleaf) Auntie Shads, and Uncle Halsin.
“Tag, you’re it!” Baby crowed as he bowled into Scratch.
Scratch barked out a laugh. “It was just a trick. But we can finish the game later. We have a job to do, remember?”
“Oh, right!” They were to destroy the patch of nasty stalks- Sellere, it was called. Which in and of itself was strange to Baby. How could you sell it? Who would buy something so yucky?
“Master says Grammy told him they only planted it for Mistress,” Scratch said.
“But she hates the Selleree!” Baby cried.
“I know, but she ate it once when Grammy made some for dinner, and even ate seconds when she offered! Mistress didn’t have the heart to tell her.
Baby nodded solemnly. That made sense at least. Grammy was the sweetest Grammy there ever was, and no one would ever want to hurt her feelings. Now he felt a little guilty.
“But what if we’re caught, and you’re never allowed back?” Baby asked, his little beak trembling.
Scratch put his paw over the owl bear’s claw. “Don’t worry, pup. Remember what master says?”
Baby ruffled his feathers on his head strategically and put on his best Astarion impression, mimicking a posh accent as best he could. “If there is no evidence, there is no crime!”
“Precisely.” Scratch yipped. “We’ll hop into the stream and bathe off the dirt as soon as the deed is done.”
Big brother was so smart, just like the Master. But Baby didn’t mind, because he liked being soft and round like Mistress even better. “Alright!” He chirped, “let’s go!”

I wanna draw a bg3 modern AU someday, but it’s so hard to imagine Astarion in a modern setting, because he is just sooo medieval.
From the way he talks, his body language and his jokes (being a vampire and a high elf doesn’t help either)…he’s just the typical posh noble you see in media.
So I can’t imagine him holding a phone or taking a selfie. I feel like he’d be the type of person to act like they hate social media, but then stalk and get into comment section arguments on their secret accounts 😂
I actually did a whumotober prompt and I never thought I would, because I’m a baby back bitch. I’ll be picking from multiple lists all month, but here is a chunk from yesterday!

OMG this is so sweet I am actually crying. I have the whole thing outlined and have been chipping away at drafts of the next 3 chapters for a few weeks now. The 9-5 and writing for an upcoming Zine has monopolized my time 😭 BUT I am still working on it and I hope to get it out by the end of this weekend 🥹
