Radblr: Who is your favourite feminist author?
Andrea Dworkin (Right Wing Women, Intercourse, Etc)
Valerie Solans (SCUM Manifesto)
Lee Graham (Loving to Survive)
Rosalind Miles (Who Cooked the Last Supper)
Caroline Criado Pérez (Invisible Women)
Naomi Wolf (The Beauty Myth)
Jessica Taylor (Why Women are Blamed for Everything)
Mary Daly (Gyn-Ecology)
Mary Wollenscraft (A Vindication of the Rights of Woman)
She's not listed! (add her in the comments please)
Favourite feminist author is Andrea Dworkin!
Altho I am guilty of not including some feminist authors you were all very passionate about, I noticed nobody chose 'Loving to Survive' author, which is perfectly fine, if you've read it and it wasn't your favourite one, but, it makes me feel like very few people read it, and for me it was so significant I put it third in the poll.
I don't mean to tell anyone what they should read, but I do think that reading 'Loving to Survive' would immediately resolve 90% of in-arguing in feminist circles. Because it explains, in detail, the motivation behind all of women's actions under patriarchy. If you've ever wondered 'Why do women do this? It enables patriarchy and helps out the oppressors and there's no benefit for the woman herself', Loving to Survive has detailed, well argumented and extensive answers for you. And no, the answer is not love.
If we want to change some of the women's actions that encourage and support the patriarchy, we need to understand where they come from. If we don't challenge the root of the problem, we will resolve nothing.
Here's a link to download the book.
i want a shirt that has a QR code on it for some kind of horrible malware so that if anyone ever tries to film me in public their phone will automatically scan the code and be reduced to a functionless brick
Modern day Medusa
I just want to read a few books per week, learn multiple languages, and a couple of instruments, become more proficient at advanced mathematics, write essays and books, exercise regularly, sleep eight hours per night, eat really healthily, have an active social life including enjoying all of my close relationships, and be really sexy. Is that really so unreasonable
caving as an extreme sport is sooo unfathomable to me why are u as a creature of the daylight doing that. were u born without the dread in ur bones or something
come 9 year olds let us sleep in the hell fissures where time goes to suffocate
Well met, traveller! Tell me, what is it that you need most?
A little change of scenery.
A glimpse into the future.
Knowledge from the universe.
Inner peace. Possibly a nap.
A home-cooked meal.
Something to pass the time.
A grand adventure to a far-off place.
Ah, I see. Thank you for your honesty. Please, take as much as you need. There will be enough for everyone.
A change of scenery. Simple, but marvelous.
A glimpse into your future, for you brave souls! (Divination is tricky business, tread carefully my dear!)
Knowledge from the universe, eh? Perhaps this will be of interest to you.
Rest for the weary, right this way. It's a personal favourite of mine.
A home-cooked meal you say? I like how you think! A labour of love worth savoring (and sharing with friends!)
For something to pass the time, try looking here, or if that doesn't hit the spot, here.
Seeking adventure to a far-off place? I know a way to get you there.
✨
I hope you found what you were looking for!
Okay, not to be overdramatic but this is one of those things that makes me feel so in awe and in love with people. OP spent their time making this?? And it's delightful?? And full of compassion and curiosity about strangers on a hellsite. Take what you need, take a breath, enjoy this shared moment of human experience. I did. 💜
update on what's happening in Iran:
Based on the news you have heard that they 'abolished' the mortality police.
but today when I woke up and checked the new, 2 of the famous actresses who took their hijab off yesterday, Elnaz Shakerdoost and Shaghaiegh Dehghan have been summoned by the police.
an amusement park was closed permanently (for now) cause one of the female workers wasn't wearing hijab.
they are lying. they just abolished the mortality police to calm the protests, they don't care about women now as they didn't care all these damn 43 years.
DON'T STOP TALKING ABOUT IRAN. OUR ONLY PROBLEM IS NOT THE FORCED HIJAB; THE ISLAMIC REPUBLIC NEEDS TO GO.

ooo…. lady gagita
When you’ve been taught all your life that it’s impolite to refuse, that you’re rude if you say no, then you haven’t been given the tools to vocalize your own boundaries. This means men can (and do) take advantage of your fear of being seen as a bad person. This puts you in harm’s way.
Female socialization is not just inconvenient. It’s dangerous.
And this isn’t a bug, it’s a design feature. Making us vulnerable to predatory men is a large part of the purpose of female socialization.
the greatest skill a woman can learn for herself is self reliance
to clarify … so many strong women in my life rely on men. that dependence is dangerous. ladies here are some good ref resources I’ve found helpful on my journey towards self reliance
automobile
changing coolant
changing oil
changing tire
jumping a car
plumbing
toilet running
basement flooding
replace a faucet
clogged drain
electrical
replacing light switches
blew a fuse
installing overhead light
earth vs. neutral vs. live wires
home
patching drywall
finding studs
this list is in no way comprehensive feel free to add on
a lot of ‘man things’ are a lot easier than you think they are. especially considering the fact that most of these things when buying the parts come with directions on the packaging that men usually don’t even look at (and often end up doing it wrong because they were taught by fathers who also did not look at the packaging).
like i recently had to change my car battery and freaked out cause i thought id electrocute myself but turns out new batteries come with directions and its the easiest shit in the world so long as you can lift the damn thing.
so yeah, ladies dont ever feel like a man is a necessity for life, you can do this shit on your own its easier than you think!
My mom is teaching me all of these, if you’re a woman you must learn these.
YouTube is great for things like this
Same for computer stuff. Assembling a desktop computer from scratch is not hard, there are plenty of tutorials out there and the motherboard manual has everything that you need anyway.
For software or OS issues, google is your best friend. Most problems can be solved with a bit of troubleshooting, and taking your computer to a man to fix comes with the risk that he will install malicious software or steal files from you.
well yeah
couldn't even spell convoluted right on a phone that no doubt has spellcheck
Remember when trump said “grab them by the pussy” and part of the response in the woman’s march was to make the pussy hats and then people were mad it wasn’t inclusive to wiener havers? A sexual predator was president talking about harassing women and people were mad their dicks weren’t included in the protest 💀
I wish every woman would sit here and seriously contend with the fact that there were no protests about the president being trans exclusive for not saying grab them by the dick.
It's not about fucking inclusivity, it's about preventing female people from organizing as a distinct political class.
