@pidgii // starter call !
“Ooooh, wow, that one went faaaar.” He stands with a posture that seems somehow a bit too battle-ready to be actually necessary considering what he’s actually doing: skipping rocks off the shoreline with as hard a throw as physically possible. The brute force pitch makes up for the part where he’s not actually that good at rock skipping. Emmet flings another one out, getting a solid three bounces before it plunks into the sea.
“Hey, hey, you should try.” Said to the kid who appeared nearby. Competitions are more fun, aren’t they? “See that floatie marker out there? I wanna see if I can launch a rock all the way out there. Or get more than five bounces. Either one. Betcha a dollar you can’t get closer than I did.” Competitions have to have stakes to be fun, too– though it’s not much of a serious bet. He expects little of himself, but still!
MORE OFTEN THAN NOT, PIDGE finds herself wandering the city of koi, rather than remaining holed up in her room all the time. quite a drastic change from when she HARDLY found herself around others! but the more she can find out about the city, the better─ and that involves making sure she knows the city ( and she doesn’t exactly have her giant, flying green lion to help her out ).
a voice calls her out of her exploration of the shoreline. brown hues look up to where someone stands, looking rather excited about skipping rocks. she’s ready to dismiss herself until a bet is established─ JUST a dollar, but who would she be if she backed down from a challenge? especially one so easy....
❝ you sure you wanna do that? ❞ she asks, approaching the shore and kneeling down to find the PERFECT stone. if she’s to win, it has to be the perfect shape, size, weight... ❝ i’m PRETTY good at this kind of thing, just so you know. ❞ she informs─ in fact, she’d just recently had a night of pitching rocks into the water with her roommate! after a few thoughtful moments, pidge picks up a rock with a small exclamation of “ah-ha!” before approaching the water’s edge. she looks to her competition with a grin.
❝ watch and learn! ❞ she taunts and reels back her arm, just as she’d been taught, mentally calculating the distance she’d need and flicking the rock out at an angle. it bounces neatly along the water right about five times before stopping short of the stranger’s throw─ he’s got more power in his arms, it seems. brows scrunch together as she looks up.
❝ that was even, i guess. ❞ she states, ❝ ... another? ❞
