You were halfway through stacking the mixing bowls when Martin’s arms snuck around your waist from behind, his chin dropping onto your shoulder with a dramatic sigh. His hair was still messy from the nap he’d taken earlier, sticking up in three different directions.

“Baby,” he mumbled into your hoodie, voice all sleepy and warm, “if you keep looking this cute while measuring flour I’m gonna combust.”

You laughed, trying to elbow him gently, but he only squeezed tighter, swaying both of you side to side like you were slow-dancing in the tiny kitchen. “Martin, we’re never gonna finish these cookies if you keep—”

He spun you around mid-sentence, grinning so wide his eyes crinkled into happy little half-moons. That smile always hit you right in the chest. Not the polished one he gave his friends or the polite one for strangers, this one was crooked on one side, a little dopey, and one hundred percent yours.

“Hi,” he whispered, like he hadn’t seen you in years instead of twenty minutes.

“Hi, dork.” You booped his nose with a floury finger, leaving a white streak across it. Instead of wiping it off, he leaned in and rubbed it against your cheek like an overexcited puppy.

Now you both had matching flour war paint.

He looked ridiculous and perfect and your heart did that stupid fluttery thing it always did around him. You wanted to squish his cheeks until he made that squeaky protest noise, but you settled for grabbing his face with both hands and planting a loud kiss on the flour spot.

Martin’s ears went pink. They always did when you caught him off guard with affection.

“You’re dangerous,” he muttered, but he was already chasing your lips for another kiss, soft and sweet and tasting faintly of the strawberry lip balm you’d shared earlier. When he pulled back, his eyes were half-lidded and sparkly. “I’m gonna marry you one day, you know that?”

You rolled your eyes even as your stomach flipped. “You say that every time we bake.”

“Because every time we bake you get flour on your nose and look illegally adorable and I have to remind myself I’m a patient man.” He kissed the tip of your nose for emphasis. “Patient. Very patient. But still gonna marry you.”

The cookies were half-forgotten on the counter. Martin noticed and gasped like they’d personally betrayed him.

“Nooo, our babies!” He clutched a bag of chocolate chips to his chest. “We can’t neglect them. Quick, be my taste-tester.”

He held out a single chocolate chip like it was treasure. When you leaned in to take it, he popped it into his own mouth instead and kissed you before you could complain, sweet, melty chocolate and laughter all mixed together.

“You’re the worst,” you giggled against his lips.

“Your worst,” he corrected proudly, bumping his forehead to yours. “C’mere, I have an idea.”

He didn’t wait for an answer. Just lifted you up onto the counter (with a little grunt that made you laugh) and stepped between your knees. Then he handed you the spoon and kept his arms looped around you while you stirred the dough together. Every few seconds he’d press a tiny kiss somewhere, your temple, your shoulder, the spot right under your ear that made you shiver.

The kitchen smelled like sugar and vanilla and him. Soft music played from his phone, some lo-fi playlist he swore helped the cookies bake better. Flour dusted both your shirts. There was a smear of brown sugar on his jaw.

You reached up to wipe it off with your thumb and he caught your hand, pressing a kiss to your wrist like it was the most natural thing in the world.

“Love you,” he said quietly, no teasing this time. Just simple and sure, like breathing. “Like… stupid amounts. The kind that makes me wanna keep you in my hoodie pocket forever.”

Your heart did the aggressive squeeze thing again. You buried your face in his neck so he wouldn’t see how hard you were smiling.

“I love you too”

He hugged you tighter, rocking gently to the music while the cookie dough sat abandoned beside you. Neither of you cared. The cookies could wait. Everything could wait.

hihi, i came on here to say that i absolutely love your banner that you put on your martin headcannons !! i was wondering how you created them ? 💕

aww thank you so much, that really made my day 💕 I make them using an app called Hypic!! u can download them from app store or play store!

so here how I do it!

Step 1: when you’re finish downloading it first I open the app and tap All photos to choose my picture of Martin

Step 2: then choose the photo u wanted to edit and drag a little then go to Background → pick the checkerboard (for transparency) and set the ratio to 16:9 (banner size)

Step 3: I tap Overlay to place another photos however I want (I usually tilt them a little)

Step 3: Then I go to Stickers (I download the ones I want from Pinterest first and import them!!)

Step 4: For each sticker I choose Cutout → Auto so it removes the background nicely

Step 5: I add the stickers where I like them

Step 6: Finally I go to Filters (I choose the filter I like) and adjust until it has that dreamy look

Then I just export it!

Tadaaaa! Here is the result! >.< (this is js for example so it’s not that pretty!!)
