Khardomah Lodge
A good friend from college was recently married in Grand Haven, MI. While celebrating the start of her new life, I, along with 25+ other guests, stayed at Khardomah Lodge
Open since 1919, it's full of so many finds and unique pieces at every turn.
While traipsing around the lodge, I stumbled on some very unique antique finds:
ca. 19020's (?) Six burner gas range with 2 ovens 1 broiler 1 storage drawer.
Original 1958 calendar sheet
Some knick knacks - more were throughout the kitchen.
I'd definitely recommend staying here!
Bacon Cookies?
Recipe idea for Roommate Baking Night "PB chocolate chip bacon cookies? Not kidding. Just found a recipe. Or too scary?" says the text. May I present, our Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Bacon cookies, with Amaretto Mimosas...
This is only fueling my bacon obsession craving as of late.
Bacon On My Mind
I love Bacon. I think I'm mildly obsessing over it as of late.
"A pig is a magical animal. You feed it an apple, and it makes bacon." - Jim Gaffigan
Wow, have I been MIA for a while! I have been caught up with moving to a new city, finding a new job (make that 2), and simply having a great time. I've neglected my blog, and for that I apologize.
MissB's Been Hacked!
my "guest" post over at MissB's... I had quite a time doing it.

What else is a couch surfer friend to do while MissB is out of town? Raid Closet? Check. Play Dress Up? Check. Hack her (logged in) Blog? Check. Pretend to be MissB? Check.

Seriously?
What a lovely thing to wake up to... This couch had been moved around to various spots the past few days - even in the middle of the driveway into the resident parking behind. This morning it was here.
A cop came to help remove it.
Is this my initiation to my new city?
Disc In
Last night was my first full night in my new city. Thanks to my bestie here, I had a great time observing the game of Ultimate Frisbee. To top it off, we all went out for a beer, compliments of the organization's sponsor. Awesome.
I think I'll be joining them for the rest of the games... It looked like a lot of fun, and it seemed pretty easy to grasp for this level of play.
She's done did it now!
I'm moving today. To a new city. To rejuvenate a bit. I need a change.
Just picking up and leaving...semi spur-of-the-moment considering I had to submit a two weeks' notice.
They've done well, my parents.
I'm just about finished packing up a few boxes for a move. I don't have much - just my car, as this is starting off to be temporary move with the hopes of it being permanent. I don't know where my "permanent home" will be, but this is the step I need to take.
One of my brothers and his family lives within easy driving distance; my other brothers and their families do not. While packing, my mom asked me, "Why do all my children feel they need to move away from home?" I responded
simply saying, "Well, Dad and you have raised us well enough to be independent; we don't need to live at home knowing we'll always have you when we need your support."
They've done well, my parents. This bird's leaving the nest.
Love Affair with Cheese
I love cheese. In a few days, I will be embarking on a move to a place with a plethora of it. Last summer, while visiting a friend, I met the intriguing Cheese Curd, or Squeaky Cheese as it's lovingly called.
It's quite an interactive food as it squeaks when you bite into it, depending on how fresh it is. This is simply
a result of air being trapped inside.
I look forward to picking up a fresh bag during my future weekend trips to the Farmer's Market. Until then, I can always find them fried and paired off with a beer.
Dear Cupcakes...
Dear Cupcakes,
The fact that you cover yourselves up with icing
says a lot about your self-esteem.

Morning wake-up
sis-in-law to my 6 yr old nephew: Sweetie, tell Nana and Popi what you said to me this morning when you woke up.
nephew: HI!!
sis: No, silly, what else did you say?
nephew: Mommy, wanna snuggle?

Excluding Mary?
Message my mother received upon calling my aunt, Sister Mary Margaret, at her convent: "If you know your party's extension, please dial anytime. If you do not, please enter the first three letters of the name, excluding Mary."
Since when did they start excluding Mary? :-)
