call your representatives to urge them to vote against further funding for ice. this is a very easy process through 5calls and it takes 2-3 minutes. you are almost guaranteed to leave a voicemail so please donāt feel nervous or stressed about it, this is something that could make a difference. all you need to do is put in your zip code and the site will provide a script and the numbers for your representatives.
(this list is mainly ways non-locals can donate but by extension offers a lot of resources and places to volunteer in the Twin Cities + there are specific ways to donate time under the cut which can be adjusted to your local neighborhood)
Memorial Blood CenterĀ declared a blood emergency on Tuesday, Jan 13. MBC is the blood supplier for both tier 1 trauma hospitals in the metro area (Hennepin County Medical Center and North Memorial Health).
Reach out to your neighborsĀ āĀ especially if you know they are staying home right now āĀ and ask if they need groceries or toiletry items. Offer to pick up prescriptions, give rides, or shovel their driveway. If you know them well, bring them a treat that you know they'll enjoy. Or just ask them how they're doing and let them know you are there to support.
Connect with any of the orgs aboveĀ and see if they are looking for volunteers.
Connect with a church or mosque in your area.Ā FromĀ u/MuddieMaeSuggins: "I know a lot of regular Redditors are not religious (myself included) but like it or not this is a where a lot of community organizing happens, especially in immigrant communities."
Connect with your local school's admin office and/or their PTA.Ā It's ok to reach out even if you don't have kids at the school. PTAs are organizing mutual aid for school families, safe rides, school observers.
Find an official protestĀ or other event viaĀ Indivisible,Ā 50501,Ā FREE AMERICA, orĀ MIRAC. Students at many high schools areĀ staging walk-outs; if your local school is doing this, reach out to school leadership or the PTA and ask how you can support as a community member.
Join the effort to stop Hilton from housing ICEĀ by booking hotel rooms and then cancelling at the last minute. This action can be done from home! The effort is being organized by Sunrise Movement, who are telling activists to target specific hotels one-by-one. More info:Ā SHUT DOWN HILTON
Find people in your area who are actively monitoring ICEĀ and/or stationing themselves in high-traffic areas and ask how you can help. Check for local FB events where people are organizing and just show up.
At minimum, read theĀ COPAL HandbookĀ before you go out to observe.Ā The DFL, Monarca, and other orgs have been hosting online trainings for constitutional observers (though these fill up quickly).
When you see ICE in action, start recording. Be as loud and as disruptive as possible: honk your horn, set off your car alarm, blow your whistle. Let people know that ICE is in the area. If you see someone being detained, try to get their name and a phone number to call their emergency contact.
If you do not feel comfortable observing ICE in person, there are ways you can support from home. Just ask the people who are organizing in your area. I have social anxiety, and I had never participated in any kind of political action before this past Saturday. If I can do it, you can!
Local organizers are requesting that people who help monitor ICE DO NOT participate in 1-to-1 mutual aid efforts, as these can put the families you are helping at risk.
If you have friends/acquaintances who are sympathetic but not politically active,Ā reach out to them. Show them that they're not alone in feeling helpless. Pick a few low-commitment actions from this list and do them together.
got a disconnect notice for my gas, this is multiple months worth of bills but i have to pay the full total because i broke a payment arrangement.
this is the last bill for this month, so if i could get some help i would be very grateful. since this is two bills + fees hopefully i won't have to pay gas and water again until february, so i can work on getting my learner's permit.
i've received no donations for this one. i managed to get the amount i need down to $100 because apparently they'll let me make another payment arrangement, bit it's $95~ down or so.
If you can eat and drink, sleep in a bed, read these words, and have a bank accountāyou have the power to help. Donāt stay silent. Do something for Gaza today.
you may or may not know this, but my dad passed away on 02/20/25. he was only 64, and he was the sole income for my entire household, which now consists only of me and my brother. we need help with our bills for march because it'll take my brother a while to get a job and for us to get to a new normal.
i do not at any point in time want to be in a dark house, because i am autistic, prone to suicidal ideation, and don't do well with my source of distraction being taken away. if that resonates with you, you probably know exactly the feeling i'm talking about when it's taken away.
if you have anything to donate, literally ANYTHING at all, use one of the paylinks below. if you cannot donate, share. i am extremely anxious about this to the point where it's affecting my physical health.
Donate to me, even if just a little. Share the donation link among your friends. Do not stop supporting us if you love Gaza and Palestine šµšøšš
Your support and donation to me will be a dose of hope for me and my family ā¤ļø

PLEASE CONSIDER DONATING ON KO-FI OR BECOMING A PATRON. Iām struggling to pay my college tuition and buying my ADHD meds, I can't work or study without them. Please, consider sharing too, if you canāt help. Thank you for the support :)
I say this as a black immigrant from a third world dictatorial country that has faced genocide and is actively facing ethnic cleansing, stop tokenizing peopleās traumas and oppression.
these are actual people facing traumas that you cannot begin to conceptualize, stop using their existence and/or deaths as morality tokens on the internet. itās becoming less about the literal genocides taking place in various countries and more about morality competition.
posting/using peopleās deaths as a talking point is disingenuous. stop weaponizing the traumas of the oppressed to feel morally superior than strangers on the internet, these are actual human beings, are not talking points.
anyways, hereās is a master list on how you can educate yourselves and provide resources to people in Palestine. Additionally you can follow @LetsTalkPalestine on instagram and join their broadcast channel to stay informed and updated.

They have placed tanks at the Egyptian border. No one can escape and no aid can come in. 1.4 million civilians, many of whom are children, are trapped in a tiny area.
Moataz @moatazart, Mariam, and Maria have less than 2 days on their fundraiser. They have met their prior goal for securing housing, but still require funds to purchase a computer so Moataz can work from Egypt. They donāt know how long they will be in Egypt, and they will need to find steady income in order to remain secure.
We are VERY close to the goal! The progress has been incredible, I know we can meet the goal! Please reblog this post and repost the link to your own social media accounts!
Thank youā¤ļø
I recently created a campaign to evacuate my family to Egypt, and you all supported me in every way. We are very happy with this progress, b
