I always say it, Sarah’s books are not hard to understand. They are actually easy to get if you read the words and don’t put headcanons between the lines.

This is exactly what Elriels have been saying for the past five years. It was introduced in ACOWAR-- that some mates can be wrong for each other despite the existence of the bond.

And considering what Sarah said about the mating bond--it’s meant to be your destined love, not a force that obliges you to be with someone you don’t want. That’s why she said Feysand and Nessian had it easier: they’re destined for each other. They love each other; the bond didn’t create that love.
