If you're still not quite clear on what the article is saying, this woman had a rapidly growing malignant tumor until her doctor poked it with one needle to take a sample.

Her immune cells responded to that tiny little needle wound as they normally would, and only then detected something wrong with the surrounding cells, attacking the cancer they now associated with that trivial damage.

It doesn't reliably work that way all the time or we would have noticed this happening a lot more often, but this would also seem to imply that, across the entire history of the practice, there's probably an above-zero number of people who actually beat cancer through acupuncture.

Continuing my tadc pokemon au, have a Jax. That man is definitely a lopunny (sans the lop ears).

When Jax first joined the circus, he was a buneary - aloof, no friends and scrappy (hello friendship level of 0). His eventual friendship with ribbit and kaufmo allowed him to evolve into a lopunny. Unfortunately, this was the beginning of the end for the friendship. Jax hated the femininity of the form (Jax is peak masculinity after all, and everybody knows the reputation lopunny have, it not... great) and laid the blame at the feet of his friends, for "tricking" him into caring and causing evolution. His lack of care and genuine bonds with others prevents him from ever mega evolving, despite being a pokemon that's capable of it.

A cop out pick for some, I'm sure, but I think eevee is probably the best pokemon for Pomni. One of eevee's ability is run away, which fits how she was at the start of the series - nervous, twitchy, and very willing to abandon people if she thought she could get out. As the show goes on, she adapts more to the circus and becomes more confident in herself.

Eevee's genes being easily influenced could be used as an explanation for why Pomni seems to have such a good read on the others, and why she seems to assimilate to circus life easily. Additionally, eevee is essentially a mascot pokemon, much like Pomni is the main character - it just makes sense.

I could probably see her evolving into a sylveon sometime after episode 5 when she has decent relationships with the full cast. Up to now, it's the evolution that makes the most sense based on dex entries (e.g., not flinching at dragons/not flinching when Caine has her pinned to the wall, good at targeting weakspots/hitting Jax's and Caine's insecurities during their fights).
