The Path of the Fae Folk

It had been a little while since Erik had walked through the forest with his Unicorn friend (who he now fondly called Inga). Usually he was too busy with his chores and training to go on walks through the forest. However this summers morning was different, he'd awoken early dawn was only a wink on the horizon. After letting his eyes adjust he noticed that there were small glowing lights in his room. They seemed to be leading a trail towards the woods, quickly dressing Erik slipped out of the house and followed the lights towards the tree line. Once he entered the woods he saw her. Inga! She seemed pleased to see him, shaking her lion like mane and softly whinnying.

Hugging her they set off through the forest, following the green lights as they went. Erik kept to Inga's side as to not insult her by climbing on her back. He felt that she wanted to show him something.

Walking further along another light became known to them, it seemed like it was coming from a small candle, however upon further inspection they realised what this was. Walking along a small branch was some very strange creatures that looked like walking toadstools. Fae-folk, one in front holding a glowing acorn like a lantern, with a small troop following behind. Erik now realised what these small green lights were...faeries....Inga was now wanting to share in her world, as he had shared her in his.

I'm enjoying designing these faerie characters in the Cartoon Saloon style, it's tricky but worth it.

Not sure if I'll get another one done this month, but we'll see.

Ghosts of the Kings

The rain came, along with its sister the mist. Despite the poor conditions the Unicorn pressed onward, deeper into the moorlands. Passing through many a bog, scrublands, and towering monuments of the Tor's. Treading heavily through longer grass, small lights winked into existence through the downpour. Soft green glows seemed to guide her path through the uneven land, on and on until she came across a familiar sight.

Three large mounds loomed in the dense fog, yet as she moved closer she began to see what they really were, statues. Old monuments of the All Father Odin and a couple of his warriors. Upon the reveal she noticed the little green lights, as they seemed too dance around the statues. Will-o'-the-wisps. Looking towards the All Father she clocked a slight glow to his good eye. Then through the wind and the rain, the sounds of what seemed like thunder rumbled. Through this she heard a voice.

"Be wary of the mortals village. For another has noticed your presence. Be swift, be strong, be cunning."

Eremu is the standing Regis to the Oasis, a civilization within the Expanse, the desert, that is dedicated to the Moon. Eremu's position as Regis means he is regarded as a direct descendant to the Moon's first children and as such has a personal connection with the Moon's spirit and will unlike any other lion. He has remained a stalwart leader over the Oasis for many decades now, but many believe he will soon be joining the Moon's spirit in the sky, as is every lion's journey. These whispers have not gone unheard by the Regis who has doubled the amount of training time he spends with his protégé and son, the Regent Sirocco.
