01. Activity on this blog is on a bi-weekly basis at the moment. Every other week, I have my step-child in my care, and this makes it more of a struggle to be on here and writing. I am rarely on on weekends, but I can usually still be reached on weekends. Because of this, this blog is considered low activity. At least until the school year ends.

02. This blog will be queue based, but does not use a queue tag. During my off week, my goal is to keep this blog active via my queue - though I can't promise this will always be the case. Real life comes first.

03. I am less likely to write smut on this blog, but it may sometimes be found. If it is, it will be tagged. Dark material such as trauma, gore, etc, will likely be touched upon. Lexie is a doctor. If you have medical trauma you may not want to follow this blog. That being said, I am willing to tag things if asked, and I do try and keep things vague. I do not currently have any noteworthy triggers myself.

04. I love original characters, but I do not like overpowered characters. If your character is too overpowered in some way or another, I may have a harder time writing with you.

05. This blog is mutuals only. If I do not follow you back, please do not interact with my posts. Personal blogs, hubs, and non-mutuals should also not reblog any of my memes, picspam, etc. Please reblog from the source. If we're mutuals, I don't care as much! 06. This character's main verse is not set in Grey's Anatomy, but is instead set in The Pitt. Canonly, Lexie died in a plane crash in Grey's, but I still love the Grey's world and would absolutely love to write with characters from it!

07. My base gifs are from here. Everything not in this credits section has been made by myself. I love an aesthetic, but I do not care if you use one. I do not care if you have gifs, but I will use mine whenever I get the chance. If you use icons, awesome. Nothing at all? Cool! So long as you cut your posts, I'm happy. Oh, can't cut your posts? I'll do it when I reblog. The only real rule I have for aesthetics is that if I post an ask straight from the askbox, it's one I'm not interested in continuing as a thread. Cassie didn't mind really but she's also was pretty sure she was one of the few people here that didn't care about the quality of food or drinks. "I will take you up on tea actually. "How are you doin? I know we've seen you down here more than usual."

"Green tea it is." She smiled, writing it down on a little pad of paper. "Yeah, I had a cup of coffee down here last week and I wanted to throw up after, so I figured a treat might be in order." The girl admitted with a little laugh. She did pause at the question though, shrugging her shoulders a bit. "Just wanna help, I guess. I like it down here. The chaos is kind of... calming." Which was weird. She knew it was.

Igraine put the top back on the wine and gestured with her head for Lexie to follow her to her couch . ❝ Sorry , it's a bit messy right now . I'm summer cleaning ? ❞

She sat , tucking one leg underneath her , drapping her arm over the back of the couch to prop her head up and listen . Nightmares she could understand . They were a particular speciality of hers . ❝ Nightmares are the worst . Really , but that's not unusual . . . what are your nightmares about ? Sometimes I call up one of my buddies and just tell them what it is . What's the part that scared me . Saying it out loud can make it less scary . ❞

Honestly, Lexie wasn't entirely sure how to explain what her nightmares were about to her friend. She didn't talk about everything that had happened before she transferred to ptmc. Really, she wasn't sure she wanted everyone to know her business - everyone back home did and it had been too much. Getting handled with kid gloves was... uncomfortable at best. Dangerous at worst.

"It's not even scary anymore." She admitted, fiddling with her gifted glass of wine. "It's just... terrorizing me. I wish there was a magical medical fix for PTSD, but there's just... not. Which is rude, honestly." Lexie wet her lips. "I... was sort of in a plane crash. Before I came here." She admitted. Okay. Half the story to start was fine.

Dr.King was babbling on and on. Her words coming out so quickly that they practically slid together. She was barely making any sense at this point, but the nerves were getting the best of her. Rambling about something that happened during her last patient. After spending the last hour zoning out, she has moved on to this. The deposition really getting to her.

'Five hours, thirty two seconds until it is her turn.' Why would they make her wait all day? To torture her?

Couldn't she just get it over with in the morning? That would have been a lot better. Eased her anxiety a little more. -- Lost in her own thoughts, and the sound of her own voice, she couldn't help but jump just slightly hearing Lexie. Her eyes moving to the girl in front of her, almost guilty. Maybe she took Lexie's words too literal, because she completely stopped talking, instead she just nodded. Hoping her face relayed how sorry she was.

As soon as her roommate stopped talking, Lexie smiled at her. “It’s really not that bad. I’ve… I’ve seen a lot of really good doctors deal with the exact same thing you’re dealing with right now.” She assured her. “The only one that actually had anything go wrong? Was the one who actually did something wrong.” A pause. “Don’t ever cut someone’s LVAD wire and you’ll be okay, okay?”

Ally flips around when she hears the call out from behind her, smiling at the newer face. "Hey. Did you get called in?" Her eyes widened when Lexie told her just how much caffeine sat waiting at the nurse's station. "Oh my god, are you serious? You are a godsend. I bet Princess claimed a box already for herself." Ally started to lead them toward the nurse's station, wanting to get a cup for herself and maybe a donut or two. "For right now, sure! The board's always a little slow from 2-3. 3-4, though, is another story. I've never quite figured out that phenomenon. But what's up?"

"Yeah, I'm on the list." Lexie replied, tone light. She was a surgery resident more than anything else, but when things went awry she made it clear that she'd come in and help. Maybe it was the newfound saviour complex that she had developed, or maybe it was just that working kept her out of her own head. Bowing playfully in response to the thanks for the coffee, she laughed. "Yeah, I figured we could use it tonight." A pause and Lexie shook her head. "Nothing good happens after two am. So the bad things are all happening between two and three, and then we're dealing with them after three."

"i don't know . . . whenever i say working out is one of my hobbies i feel like it makes me sound douchey." andrea's brows furrowed for a moment, "is there a female equivalent to douchey ? " she shakes her head, dismissing her own comment. "is there anything that you're like . . . into, besides medicine ? "

"Bitchy?" Lexie hummed and shook her head. That wasn't right. "Cunty?" That was better. Either way, she laughed a little. "I mean a douche is totally a female thing, so maybe we're calling men pussies when when call them douchebags." Her lips twitched a bit, then she shrugged. "I used to be into things?" But not so much now.

andrea slowed at the sound of lexie’s voice, expression shifting almost immediately when she realized which patient she meant. "oh," she said quietly. there was a brief pause before she glanced down the hallway toward the now-empty room. "he coded about twenty minutes ago," she explained, voice gentler now. "they moved him to trauma two, but . . . " the slight downturn of her mouth said the rest before she even finished the sentence."i'm sorry. i thought someone would've updated you already."

"Fuck." Lexie muttered before she could stop herself. She tried to keep a clean mouth at work, but losing patients was always a rough one for her. Worse so when she just... didn't make it down in time to help. The doctors working in the ED were fantastic - she knew they were - but that didn't stop the immediate guilt that formed in the pit of her stomach. "No, it's not your fault. It's just... we were in a surgery and there was a bleeder that took longer to stop and..." She sighed. "Fuck. Okay. How else can I help?"

Carter was finishing up his morning coffee and bagel when Lexie made her approach. Before he could even say, “Hello,” she was already talking a mile a minute, regaling him with talk of bribery.

He snorted, his lips curling up into a smile. “Hey, it’s a little early for exortion, don’t you think? You could at least wait until we’ve all been properly caffeinated.”

As if making a point, Carter took a large swallow of coffee, then promptly spat it back out once Lexie spoke of pearl necklaces, of all things.

“Jesus,” Carter swore, his cheeks red. “Are you trying to kill me?” In more ways than one. “This is new Armani, too…”

Ah, yes. Because nothing endeared the staff to him like talk of money. With a self-conscious, husky laugh, he reached inside his lab coat pocket, then pulled out a handkerchief, furiously dabbing at his tie, shirt, and slacks before looking up at her with a cocked brow. “So, was this your way of saying you need help with the sexual deviant in exam three, or is your little pearl necklace-giver good to go?”

At this point, he was just giving Lexie a hard time. She’d embarrassed him first, so the razzing almost seemed necessary.

Tossing his dripping coffee cup into the trash, Carter straightened and sighed. “I’m about to start my rounds. Feel like tagging along, or would you like to head back to O.R. prep?”

While she hadn't exactly expected him to choke on his coffee, it was actually pretty funny. So the smug, amused little look that came onto Lexie's features stayed firmly in place. "Not trying to kill you. But I did make a mental note of how well it worked. For future reference." She teased lightly. "I'll buy you a new coffee later." The girl added easily.

Lexie wasn't one to judge someone on what they had or didn't - well, no... that was a lie. She would have judged his Armani comment completely... had she been back at her old hospital, with her sister, and everyone there. But she was trying to do better. Be better. So when he mentioned the tie he was blotting off, she let her gaze flicker to it. "Well, on the plus side, I think you got most of it off. It still looks good." She assured him.

"Mrs. Pearl Necklace is good. I'll check on her in a bit. Buttttttt I'll join you on your rounds. Got anything interesting?"

"Pretty sure, we didn't hire anyone by the name of 'No One' here." He gave her a smile as he looked up from the chart he was checking over for the ED before heading down to consult.

"Now, I do believe, that I have a new trauma surgeon starting today. So are you perhaps that person?" He chuckled a little and shook his head, offering his hand to her, "My name is Weylen Pentacost, I'm the chief trauma surgeon. You'll be working with me today, that is if you're my new resident."

"Uh yeah. Yeah, you're right. Sorry." Lexie had gotten used to being no one, since she left Seattle. But starting in a new place like this, starting over (even if she wasn't starting from scratch) was daunting enough as it is. "It's Lexie. Grey." She hated saying her last name these days - the plane crash had made international news, and a whole hospital had been named after her while she'd been in a coma. It was quite the legacy to leave. Thankfully, it was a lot easier to leave it behind in a new city. In a new hospital. International news or not, most doctors were too busy to think about it too much to connect the dots. Which she was thankful for.

"Thank you forrrrr, the opportunity. I'm excited to get started." And that part was true. Lexie really was excited.

Jack pushes through the double doors into the corridor, tugging off his gloves and tossing them in the bin as he goes. The edge of adrenaline is gone now, replaced with something looser, easier. “Grey,” he calls when he spots her, tone casual as he slows to a stop nearby.

“Kid from that trauma—turns out we dodged the OR,” he adds, scrubbing a hand back through his hair. “Scan looked worse than it was. Small bleed, but it’s behaving. We’re watching it instead of cutting.” A faint, relieved exhale follows, the kind that only comes when things don’t go sideways.

He leans back against the counter, crossing his arms loosely. “Nice change of pace, right? Not having to open someone up for once.”

Lexie had barely gotten onto the floor when she heard her last name, and she had barely gotten out of the operating room before that when she'd been told the pitt needed a consult. So when she turned toward him and let him talk, she honestly did breathe a little sigh of relief as well. It wasn't that she didn't want to do some cutting - she loved a good surgical procedure - but any time a kid was involved, she was always more than happy to not. "That's good." She replied on the tail end of her sigh. "Those scans looked nasty, but if the bleeder's not so bad, I'll happily let it sit and see what happens."

Tieing off her hair again quickly, Lexie wet her lips. "You still want me to go have a look? Fresh eyes give him a once over? Or do you think he's in a safe zone for now? Because I just saw a new trauma come in with a knife in between his ribs and I'm so down to help with that if he's good."

For anyone who doesn't know my insane schedule: I'm here on and off today, then sporadic for the weekend (just depends what we end up doing bc the hubby is home on weekends, but I'm usually reachable at least) then next week Monday-Friday I'm mostly away. So my queue will run from Monday-Friday next week, but it is paused for this weekend. Then we rinse and repeat. One week on, one week off. At least until the end of the school year (end of June) then my schedule will change.

My other blogs have the same schedule, so if you're following me elsewhere, same thing. I'm sorry, I know this is a pain, I wish it wasn't like this but it's out of my control. Hopefully in another month and a half when my schedule changes it will be better.
