Everyone should know the international sign for Help Me. Letâs make this famous!!
Interesting; I didnât know this was a thing.
Itâs apparently a thing, but itâs a very new thing, so it may need some help being known.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Signal_for_Help
The Signal for Help (or the Violence at Home Signal for Help) is a single-handed gesture that can be used by an individual to alert others that they feel threatened and need help over a video call, or in-person. It was originally created as a tool to combat the rise in domestic violence cases around the world as a result of the self-isolation measures related to the COVID-19 pandemicâŚ
The Signal for Help was first introduced in Canada by the Canadian Womenâs Foundation on April 14, 2020, and on April 28, 2020 in the United States by the Womenâs Funding Network (WFN). It received widespread praise from local, national, and international news organizations for helping provide a modern solution to the issue of a rise in domestic violence cases.
The signal has been recognized by over 40 organizations across Canada and the United States as a useful tool to help combat domestic violence.
Addressing concerns that abusers may become aware of such a widespread online initiative, the Canadian Womenâs Foundation and other organizations clarified that this signal is not âsomething thatâs going to save the day,â but rather a tool someone could use to get help.
âI loved you, always.â
going to comment a little on this game: the overseeing voice talks as if it owns you, and defies your free will. if you follow its orders, you are praised, and the worldview becomes sharper and more detailed. if you donât, you are chastised, and the world becomes more vague and difficult to navigate, but also more colourful and loud. itâs odd, and sort of eerie, but definitely interesting. take it as you will.
This game really unsettles me. It unsttles me that my first choice to obey, and when I played again and disobeyed, I got really emotional really fast. Failure hurt me more the more I disobeyed. It was⌠interesting to experience.
iâve always said we are trained to obey more than to think.
holy shit. i reblogged this the first time without playing. then i played in and it is terrifying. i very much like this, but it will give you intense feelings.Â
Whatâs the game??
you obey everything the game tells you too, even jumping into barbs and basically killing yourself. if you dont youre chastised and even the scolding is terrifying
So, essentially, itâs a game that illustrates what itâs like to be in an abusive parents or an abusive relationship - and how it affects you emotionally. That is horrific and ingenious - the next time someone negates the affects of emotional abuse, Iâll take them to this game and let them come to their own conclusions.
This game absolutely gets it. The most solid and reliable degradation is a gendered insult. The more you obey and co-operate, the better understanding you seem to have of your word, and things seem easier. But what really gets me is the contradiction. You are not allowed to have the correct answer. Are you a boy or a girl? The answer is no, I will give you the answer. even towards the end, your âpraiseâ is âno, I will give you the answer. You earned this answer, but it is given to you by me.â Disobeying makes the world frightening and confusing and difficult, but beautiful in a world devoid of flavour.
great that itâs made by a fellow australian too
Reblogging this for later.
If anyone was looking for the name itâs called Loved
Holy jesus this sounds horrifying and interesting all at onceâŚ
Where can I find this
Itâs a Flash game from 2010.

OK Highway Patrol Captain George Brown says the best âtipâ for women to not get raped by a cop is to âfollow the law in the first place so you donât get pulled over.â http://youtu.be/BO8g8akPWcYÂ (Last third of the video).
Three serial rapists in 3 weeks arrested in Oklahoma, all cops.

Pro tip: if youâre signaled to pull over (whether youâre male or female) and youâre in a place that has no witnesses, turn your hazard lights on to acknowledge the officerâs siren, and drive to the nearest gas station or populated area. This is accepted protocol by every agency. You are not obligated pull over until you can do so safely. This includes personal safety. Understand your rights, brothers and sisters. There are disgusting examples of authority in this world.
HAZARD LIGHTS ARE NOT AN ACCEPTABLE ACKNOWLEDGEMENT. IT IS NOT ACCEPTED PROTOCOL BY EVERY AGENCY. DO NOT JUST CONTINUE DRIVING WITH YOUR HAZARD LIGHTS IN CASE THE COP MIGHT THINK ITâS A LOW-SPEED CHASE.
I know that sounds dumb, but hear me out. My mother is a dispatcher for the local police station. I asked her about how to pull over for a cop and even brought up the use of hazard lights, and she told me that it is not always accepted. This is what she told me you can do in order to feel safe when pulling over:
Call the police. No, really. Call and tell the dispatcher where you are and that there is a cop behind you demanding you pull over. The dispatcher can and will stay on the line with you while they look up the area youâre in to see if itâs one of their stationâs cops. Then, once the cop comes to your window, you can crack it open (it only has to be an inch!) while still on the phone with the dispatcher. This is definitely, 100% accepted protocol.
The dispatcher will verify that it is their own, real cop, and they will gladly stay on the line with you throughout your interaction with the officer. And God forbid this ever happens to any of you, but if something were to happen to you during this time, youâve already contacted 911 and given your location to the dispatcher.
Please keep this in mind if you are ever requested to pull over and do not feel safe. The dispatcher will understand. Do not, however, continue to drive, because there might be the off-chance an officer will think youâre flat-out refusing to pull over (a well-lit, populated area might be a ways away).
Stay safe.
Signal boost.
Because I personally know some creepy ass mother fuckers who became cops because theyâre demented psychopaths and they get off on having control over people.
In light of current bullshit, this might be a good idea for a LOT of people, not just women. Marginalized minorities of all stripes, take note. I hate taking up an emergency dispatcherâs resources, but i also hate seeing yet another fucked up news story about police harming citizens.
