"forbidden romance" and it's just homophobia
Did he teach you nothing about the dangers of ai
Actually now I’m obsessed with the idea of the Graysons dying in a different city but Dick still ends up with whatever hero lives there instead and becomes Robin. But then when the JL forms, Dick is just drawn towards Batman.
And he’s the only one who ever gets the Bat to smile. To let out a huff of a laugh. To say anything other than a vague grunt.
Bruce just adores Robin. He knows who the boy behind the mask is, of course. He knows who everyone is. He did his due diligence. But there’s something about Dick Grayson that just makes Bruce feel so protective over him. He loves this annoying little brat of a kid, and he can’t explain why.
Dick calls him “Uncle Batman” almost right away. Everyone thinks Batman is going to yell at him and tell him to stop. That never happens.
Dick then finds out Batman’s secret identity. He tells no one. Uncle Batman soon becomes Uncle B.
Bruce finds out that Dick knows who he is. Bruce Wayne suddenly becomes very good friends with the civilian counterpart of whoever adopted Dick. Dick calls him Uncle Bruce immediately.
Bruce allows the Justice League to know his identity. Dick is giggling up a storm at the shocked faces and calls him Uncle Bruce. Several fingers get pointed at him as they say in accusing tones, “You knew!”
Dimension hopping shenanigans ensue. Dick is now ten years old, and he’s in another dimension with Bruce, Flash, Green Lantern, Green Arrow, Wonder Woman, and Black Canary. The usual Batfam is called in to the alternate dimension’s Watchtower to help with the situation.
Adult Dick Grayson, now Nightwing, shows up first. He’s smitten with this tiny alternate version of himself. He shows his mini me all sorts of futuristic gadgets while he discusses the intricacies of opening a portal to another dimension to send them home.
“I’m sure your B will figure it out soon enough, you’ll learn all this with him.”
“Cool!” Dickie exclaims, turning back to his group. “Uncle B, did you hear that?”
“…Uncle?”
Dickie is so confused, because this grown up version of himself is looking at him like he grew a second head, and all the other versions of the JL are looking at him funny.
“What?”
“Why do you call him uncle?”
Dickie narrows his gaze at his older self.
“Do you not call him uncle?”
He sounds so judgmental that it makes normal Dick blink in shock.
“Well, no. I just call him his name.”
“You must not be as close as us then,” Dickie says in a haughty tone, and he marches over to his Batman and holds his hand tightly in both of his, swinging around. “He’s my most favorite uncle in the whole wide world!”
“What the hell am I, then, chopped liver?” Green Arrow asks.
“You’re not supposed to play favorites when everyone’s around, remember?” Hal reminds him gently, needing down next to him.
“But he’s being mean to his version of B!” Dick whines to Hal. “It must make other-Batman so sad!”
“I’m sure other-Batman has survived without other-you calling him his uncle.”
“You just don’t like that I like Batman. You’re mean to him, too!”
“I am not!”
“Are too!”
“We are not doing this back and forth again, kid.”
“So you admit you’re mean to him!”
Hal turns to glare at Bruce, who has an innocently blank expression on his face.
“You’re corrupting my kid.”
“So sorry,” older Dick interrupts them, shaking his head. “I think I just hallucinated a little bit. Are you, are you saying – was I adopted by Green Lantern in another universe?”
“That can’t be possible,” his Batman says as he stalks into the room.
Dickie looks so much confused now, as does everyone else in the room.
“Oh holy shit, it’s true,” Dick says with a gasp of a laugh. “Holy shit. What is a me raised by Hal Jordan like? That’s wild! That’s a first, we’ve never seen that before!”
Dickie looks so conflicted, and he’s still holding onto his Bruce’s hand, but Bruce gives him a little nudge, and he’s quickly scampering over to Hal to hold his hand instead and cling to his side.
“What are you talking about?” Dickie asks. “Why wouldn’t I be with Hal?”
“Oh this is so weird!” Dick laughs. Then he turns to his Bruce, and he cracks up when he sees the irritated look on his face.
And that’s when the alternate JL finds out it’s very unusual for any version of Dick Grayson to not end up being raised by Bruce Wayne.
Alternate Hal is appalled, and he keeps Dick held close to him the entire time they’re there. He’s convinced the other Batman wants to steal his kid away. He thought dealing with a doting uncle version of Batman was bad, but he’s suddenly so grateful his Bruce has never actually tried to take Dick away from him. He likes playing uncle and he likes spoiling Dick, sure, but he doesn’t try to steal him in the night and turn him against Hal or anything.
Bruce notices Hal's worry and placates him with a "I love him a lot, but I'm not going to steal him away. I don't think I'd be a very good father anyway."
Bonus points if they're still with the other JL and Dick hears. Now he has to pause, because did his Bruce think that too? Does he still?
Something that I've realized has helped me eat more consistently is having perishable foods around.
Fruit in the fridge? Doesn't last very long, better have a snack. Bread in the cupboard? Don't want it to go stale, guess I'll make a sandwich. Opened milk? I should use it before it spoils, so I'll make mac & cheese.
Is it foolproof? No. Food goes bad. Sometimes eating just isn't on the docket in that moment. But remembering I spent money on perfectly good groceries and the only thing standing between consuming them and throwing them away is me? I am way cheaper than I am mentally ill.
A TV show about Jason's time as Robin.
Like literally that's it.
It's 2-3 seasons for his limited time as Robin. There's his training, adventures, misadventures, adjusting to manor life, teenage fights with Bruce, awkward sibling moments with Dick.
But
The series finale is him going to Ethiopia behind Bruce's back. Looking for his mom. Being led to a warehouse. The betrayal of being given up to the Joker by his biological mother. Still protecting her during Joker's abuse.
And it ends with the bomb ticking down. We see Batman turn (in silence) learning of the danger his son is in.
Cut to black. Ticking continues. Then eerie silence.
btw if you’re fat and your partner doesn’t love you wholeheartedly, if they’re attracted to you “despite” your body, if they avoid touching you, if they look away from certain parts of you, you’re allowed to break up with that person. look at me. you can do better. you are not unloveable and you don’t have to settle i fucking promise.
hi, a lot of you need a perspective reset
the average human lifespan globally is 70+ years
taking the threshold of adulthood as 18, you are likely to spend at least 52 years as a fully grown adult
at the age of 30 you have lived less than one quarter of your adult life (12/52 years)
'middle age' is typically considered to be between 45-65
it is extremely common to switch careers, start new relationships, emigrate, go to college for the first or second time, or make other life-changing decisions in middle age
it's wild that I even have to spell it out, but older adults (60+) still have social lives and hobbies and interests.
you can still date when you get old. you can still fuck. you can still learn new skills, be fashionable, be competitive. you can still gossip, you can still travel, you can still read. you can still transition. you can still come out.
young doesn't mean peaked. you're inexperienced in your 20s! you're still learning and practicing! you're developing social skills and muscle memory that will last decades!
there are a million things to do in the world, and they don't vanish overnight because an imaginary number gets too big
bruh, you still gotta flirt with her even if she’s already yours
Velvette's phone case is a combination between the heart emoji "<3" (bc she's chronically online) and V³ (bc they're the 3 Vees). I love these little details
The threat that we won't have new shows and movies coming out because of the strikes would hit a little harder if 99.9% of everything coming out wasn't God awful derivative schlock that you watch once and immediately forget.

Harry standing up for Imogen in the restaurant in season 2 after getting decked by Nick in season 1 shows that feminists can also be homophobes. It's nice to see two worlds colliding.
THIS GIF IS MAKING ME ACT UP—
As a touch starved person, seeing this sort of casual physical touch is literally life changing. IT’S SO SWEET AND INTIMATE IN A NON-SEXUAL, NON-ROMANTIC WAY.
Two people who are content enough to just be physical with no preconceived notions or anything is such a special phenomenon fr.

Isn't it funny that following in your family's footsteps is frowned upon as a career move unless you're 'taking over the family business'
