Headcanon that Italy and Prussia have an unspoken trauma bond over losing Holy Rome. Italy hardly if ever opens up about Holy Rome but with Prussia he doesnt have to. They coexist in the same lake of grief.

Prussia also probably saw how it changed Italy for a short while. (Example of him during his fight for independence below)

Its an unexplored aspect of them that im terminally ill about. Prussia seeing Italy go from that to his cheerful self in modern times was probably healing for him too.
