Shoutout to TBSkyen for being based, as usual, about Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss.

Just a clip from his design review that I really loved since I’ve been thinking a lot about Hellaverse (Hazbin S2 eating me alive) lately, and the reasons I love it.

Hazbin and Helluva to me have somehow felt like the most human shows out there that I’ve experienced, and it’s because they’re unabashedly themselves. Everything is 100% genuine.

The idea of it being “fanfiction of itself” struck me, because while haters use that as a gotcha (though usually talking about how everyone’s too gay and how it makes the writing bad), this section really made me think about how Viv and the crew talk about their characters, and how I’m completely convinced they love them more than anything, they’re fans of them, everything they make is an excited tribute to them, out of love.

The writing of these characters is loud and unrelenting, but inexplicably we can feel that it’s deeply personal. The stories being told mean something to the writers, what’s being shown is something core to them, and if those emotions need to be expressed so badly that they burst off the page. What is more human than a story that needs to be told because it is so loved? That can’t be held back because it is felt so strongly?

And what a perfectly encapsulating statement.

“Fanfiction is one of the most human forms of art in the modern age, and human art is what the human soul is nourished on.”

And, of course, we love the love for fanfiction. There really is no greater form of creative love than a fanwork. To be able to capture any of that feeling within an original show is truly a wonder.

So, in the leadup to Hazbin Hotel Season 2, sending love to the Hellaverse!

I am so SO happy that Blitz, of all characters is allowed to be soft and hurt and cry.

Specifically because his coping is anger. At first glance he's obnoxious, aggressive and witty. He turns into a shitty person when he's afraid, meant to hurt and push away. And it's such a typical "male" thing.

I've seen straight white men who love Blitz because of these traits, that are mostly shown at the beginning of the show. Some of these people get disappointed when he then shows vulnerability and care and that reaction honestly just makes me love it more.

It's not the Dean Winchester "single man tear" way of showing vulnerability either. It's the "ugly sobbing, hiding in a corner" kind of vulnerability.

It's not the rugged "I'm still an asshole but I care in my own way".. Well, it's that too.. But it's also "I love you so much, hugs and kisses" kinda care. He's so loving with Loona, he's so honest with Fizz, he's so soft with Stolas. And I'm so happy we get to see that.

Because he's aggressive, because he's angry. Because he's an asshole.

I know I'm a huge ass simp for Stolas. But Blitz is honestly such an amazing character and I'm so glad he exists.

Who knows maybe his husband could do it by himself with enough determination. If not, he has a line of other men practically begging to do it for him. If you need more reasons why he should be pregnant, the fandom went absolutely insane at some point in the past year and spawned a creature known as Skinzun, a hairless cat version of Shen Qingqiu with a human face that nurtures his skin children with his milk. I am not joking even remotely. It spawned a movement of other skin creatures, though Skinzun is the only relevant one in this scenario. ColeyDoesThings has a YouTube video on it. It's terrifying. However, it does prove that people think he is very motherly!"

Did someone say get Blitzø pregnant?!

The drama mentioned in the original post would be tasty, but as someone with a 200k word explainer on why I think this man should be pregnant, let me actually argue the case real quick.

1) Blitzø is already a loving father, and family is clearly something that is important to him, even though he lacked it for a long time. I have no doubt that if he were to have another child (or two) he would absolutely love them to pieces. But...

2) It would not be a smooth journey. There is so much potential for exploration with Blitzø being pregnant. Everything from his job, his self doubt and insecurities, even the biological make up of the baby, would all be barriers. And that's not even touching on the current situation in canon!

3) Twins run in the family, like that is right there, ripe for the picking.

4) I really can not stress how much there would be to dive into. His love for his found family, the softness inside of him that he's finally starting to show, fighting with the fact that he has used his body for so long, for sex, as a weapon, and believeing that's all he's good for. There are so many emotional hurdles he would have to overcome. Never mind the physical!

5) I saw someone in the tags call him a thing, and they're so fucking right 😂 get that thing pregnant! (He's literally not human we can just get absolutely wild with his biology, his partner canonically has a cloaca, there are no rules)

Also, the argument for the opposition being so small he could be carried away by an owl, getting put up against Blitzø? Poetry.

Meet my Strella fankid, Sylvia! She's full of fury and mommy issues.

Some lore notes:

- Stella and Striker had a sort of hate-fuck relationship while working together in this AU. Neither of them knew they were biologically compatible enough to create viable offspring (not just cuz of the species difference, but also due to Striker's own hybrid heritage making him potentially infertile. Looks like he wasn't).

- Stella eventually lays a fertile egg, much to her shock. She knows who the father must be, and is horrified at the prospect of having a bastard child with a 'lower species.'

- Though Stella resolves to destroy the egg before it can hatch, Striker learns of its existence. He empathizes with the hardships of being a hybrid demon, scorned and unwanted, and is outraged that a goetia would see their own child as disposable. Thus, he steals the egg to raise himself, effectively cutting off his relationship with Stella for good.

- Stella hates the idea of having some hybrid demon with her DNA running around out there, but hiring someone else to track down and kill it would make too much of a scene and potentially risk the information getting out and damaging her reputation further. So she allows Striker to take the egg and opts to ignore the whole situation, pretending it never happened to begin with.

- Striker doesn't know the first thing about parenting, but goddamnit he'll learn out of pure spite alone. He doesn't consider his daughter in the same category as 'bluebloods' despite her goetian mother, as she is a hybrid, which automatically places her down at his level on the Hell hierarchy. She also maintains more impish physical traits when she hatches. The only avian-like features Sylvia possesses are digitigrade legs with four clawed toes and a feathered tail (which really only results in a more dinosaur-like appearance).

- Striker raises Sylvia with the same rage he has grown up with, fostering in her an ingrained resentment for the 'higher classes' of Hell-- which cuts especially deep, knowing her own mother cared more about rank and reputation than her.

Husk's kids from his human life (OCs)

Top row we have his only biological kids-- two sons with his first wife (Julia) named Max and Viktor. After Husk and Julia split, he didn't really see them much anymore. The boys lived relatively good lives and died of natural causes in old age. Then they went to Heaven.

In the middle row is Husk's first step-daughter, Kimberly. He married her mother (Tamara) when Kim was 5 years old, and they divorced after about 14 years (this was his longest relationship). He still remained relatively close with Kim afterward, as he's the only father-figure she ever had. Kimberly also lived into old age and died a peaceful death. She is a mouse angel in Heaven and is more content appearing her age than her step-brothers are; they instead took forms aligning more with the prime of their lives (*I headcanon that while sinner demons don't have a choice in how they look after death, including still appearing the age they were when they died, winner angels have more leeway and can be whatever age they are most comfortable appearing as).

The last row is Husk's step-children from his third and final marriage. Both of their afterlife forms are based on donkeys. The elder child is Jennifer. She was 13 when Husk married her mom, Helen, in the late 1960s. The relationship did not last very long. Jennifer was murdered by her college boyfriend at 18, and her parents split shortly after (it was more the final straw in a marriage that was already failing).

Her younger brother, Rob, was distraught. He and Husk had a falling out, which they never recovered from. Rob cut himself off from the family, and Husk passed away only a few years later. Rob grew up to be a bitter man and did not make many good life choices. While his sister went to Heaven, when Rob died many decades later, he did not. Even in Hell, he never attempted to reconnect with Husk. He sort of just gave up and was killed again in the exterminations not long after arriving.

Another sinner demon -- Poppet (human name Poppy Mynatt)

Poppet grew up in late 1800s Britain with an abusive father and emotionally codependent mother. She was the eldest child, and once her mother gave birth to her little brothers, she was essentially parentified and was their primary caretaker. Her father favored the sons of the family and did not regard her with much esteem, but her mother coddled and gushed over her 'little good luck charm.' It was a strange dichotomy. One parent spared her little to no attention unless it was beratement, and the other smothered her. Her brothers grew older. In the city, Poppet witnessed firsthand the extreme poverty and duress of many citizens, including the orphaned urchins. Her father had made threats before, about kicking her out on the street. Poppet began to fear what might become of her when she was no longer useful to the family, when they were in need of one less mouth to feed.

It wasn't until her mother gave birth to another daughter and began to coo and coddle and provide it all the affection that Poppet cherished and craved, that the child grew immensely jealous and paranoid. She wound up sneaking poison into the baby's food, killing her. It was done subtly enough to mistake the death for a natural one. Infant mortality rates were very high after all. However, after the successful disposal of her competition, Poppet became more confident. Too confident. She foolishly tried the same method with her brothers, using toxic mushrooms, and murdered them one by one. At this point, though, the trend of deaths looked too suspicious and obvious. Her parents inevitably found out she had deliberately done it, and her father cursed her, beat her, and once believing she was dead, wrapped up her body and threw her in a pond in the woods, near the very mushrooms she had weaponized. To the cadence of the croaking frogs, she drowned at ten years old. Child-sinners are rare, but not completely unheard of. Even if she had seen it as survival of the fittest, for her cold-blooded multiple counts of fratricide, Poppet was condemned to a tortured afterlife.

In Hell, her appearance is influenced by straw dolls ('poppets'), mushrooms, and frogs. She has a contract with Velvette, working as a model for smaller sized sinner apparel.
