I feel like Naru is only BARELY a swirly glasses girl... Like, the whole point was that she was somewhat unrecognizable with the swirly glasses on, and after they showed that that's who it is, I could probably count on one hand the number of times she was depicted with her glasses on. At least in the anime, I don't remember the manga well enough to say for sure but I feel like she was depicted more often with the glasses there.

A big reason why I think I became a marxist is bc I read A LOT of Calvin & Hobbes and Bill Watterson really went out of his way to lay the groundwork for teaching people critical analysis. Like take this panel for example:

He criticizes the "satanic" bands not for some lack of christian morals but because theyre a byproduct of hyperconsumptionist culture. Bill takes no issue with the subject matter bc his issue is knowing its only being done to sell rebellion as a consumer product rather than to say anything truly provocative or inspired.

An instrumental arrangement of 600 A.D. from Chrono Trigger. A pretty nice one, actually. But it's not even as though the gold music was just like, pointing at some internet radio server or something and listening to that, it was just looping this song. Incredibly strange, if welcome.

It's not even like it was the Mario theme or the Tetris music or something like that, that non-video game people would be somewhat likely to encounter, it was music from a random JRPG from 30 years ago! Just wild.

Apparently it is impossible for Tumblr users to think of a not ageist way to describe their tastes, because everything must always be compared to how inferior children are -- despite the fact that it is pretty much never the choice of any child or children when media aimed at them is dumbed down etc.
