Something about getting older I hate is that I notice myself BEING the older relative who asks you random questions about your life at holidays and reunions and stuff and it’s like I can’t HELP it but I’m self-aware of it bc of all the memes and jokes surrounding it so I try to like. Make it less awkward which Does Not Work and this Thanksgiving I was alone in the car with one of my only cousins who isn’t an adult and I was like “so…………how old are you like?? What grade are you even in?” And he told me and I was like “okay not to interrogate you it’s just that the last time we spent any time together alone you were 7 years old and not to say kids aren’t people but it feels like now I have to actually get to know you as a like. Human Being with a personality.”

This is what its like serving people. People want straight answers to questions they fundamentally don’t understand. They don’t even understand the language you use. There is a very definite answer to what ‘wifi’ is, but a lot of oldies have their own understanding which is seperate from fact, but they believe to be fact. So when you try to explain it to them it gets to a point where they not only don’t understand it, but they don’t want to understand it. 

These people here, its not that they don’t understand the tech at hand. Its that they simply don’t want to. And so they never will.

This sounds like an excellent premise for a game: everybody’s got to make a character with a dump stat that’s usually considered highly important to their character. Bonus points if you manage two dump stats. Boost a stat that’s supposed to be irrelevant.

Bring your stupid wizards who grew up on a farm and can bench-press an ox, your monks with no dexterity whatsoever, your knight who can barely lift his sword, your uncharismatic bard, your berserker barbarian dude who can speak eleven languages and memorized the encyclopedia for fun but whose fighting skill is 98% enthusiasm.

Band together and go fight evil.
