Channeling my inner witch to get through these hard times. I’m pretty proud of these rpg prop potion bottles! I have a few more that I’ll be taking better photos of, then posting to my etsy shop!
A few days late, but here is the last set of Inktober 2020 themed potions! This was a really fun project and the first time I’ve actually finished Inktober… albeit, without doing any actual ink…But definitely a good challenge and I’m glad to see so many of you enjoying this series and wanting to use it for your games!
Which one is your favorite from this set? Which one is your favorite out of all the sets?? Let me know!! :D
A fun thing

Fancy healing potion designs, because your character deserves to feel like a star when chugging that sweet sweet life juice ✨
Gnome’s back and he’s got more of his bottles and potions to show off! First off, a luck potion that’s not unlike playing a bit of Russian Roulette. See, you drink it down, inevitably swallow one of the D20s inside. Then you cough it up and whatever number comes up determines your outcome. Nine or lower, you’re gonna have a bad day. Might stub your toe, might make a lifelong enemy. Ten or higher, and things are comin’ up Milhouse! Roll a 20, and your life will change forever - perhaps you’ll come into money, maybe you’ll catch the eye of that wealthy cheese magnate you’ve been lusting for, who knows.
Roll a 0 though… Wait, I thought D20s only went from 1-20! Well, it’s largely considered rolling a 0 when you fail to cough up the damn thing at all. It’s pretty big, and your airway is only so large…
The second offering is more about the bottle than its contents - see, it’s designed to never break, but always spill. For those situations where you cannot afford to lose the whole thing, but can still make do with just a drop left at the end of your journey. Pretty useful when you spend your days hanging out with a big ole orc like Gnome does.
It is time to stockpile your favorite potions and rations, touch up the paint on your miniatures, and gather your dice and notes. Gary Gygax’s birthday is approaching, July 27, and this year it falls on a Friday which makes this the perfect week to plan some weekend gaming.
A while back we rolled up a party using the Moldvay/Cook B/X D&D rules and fought through their first encounter in module B1. After a long delay our schedules are in sync again so this week we will be delving deeper in search of the unknown.
(Potions by Jeff Dee, from the Moldvay D&D Basic rulebook, TSR, 1981.)
