i made some posts about a month ago about some fan-made ben 10 alien species, and theyve kinda been filling my mind since then, so heres some more lore about them in an explanation in the style of The Ink Tank's "And Beyond!" more specifically, we'll be diving into the Urodi species, including their history, their cultures, and more!
the Urodis originally come from the planet Andrias, and are all descended from the Urodi Andrias (based on the giant salamanders). these ancestors to the various Urodi species were some of the last organisms to gain sapients in the history of their planet, and, unfortunately, they were not able to save their home. as such, they launched an interstellar colonization program, called the Urodia Initiative, launching various groups of individuals who graded best in adaptability into various viable solar systems in hopes of them surviving and colonizing the viable planets they found. 10 of these groups were sent off in three waves. only three of these groups are confirmed to still be alive. for the most part, it is unknown if the other groups died off instantly, failed to adapt to their new planets, or are still surviving without being able to contact the others
the first planet to have confirmed colonization was Urodia II, found during the first wave of exploration with Urodia I and III. Urodia I did not allow for safe landings due to unpredictable EMP blasts coming from the atmosphere, and Urodia III was deemed too dangerous to continue colonization due to its highly poisonous atmosphere, which would not have been an issue if not for its moisture sources, something necessary for Urodi survival, being highly irregular in appearance. Urodia II, however, has a highly nurturing water source, allowing its new inhabitants to quickly adapt to the planet's ecosystem as well as leading to development of a specialized sense allowing the new Urodi Axolo psychic abilities.
this success in colonization with Urodia II was later followed by the second wave of exploration, taking the Urodi into a promising solar system. it was there that the colonies of Urodia IV, an extremely hot and humid planet with volcanic activity, Urodia V, a temperate planet with high storm acrivity and deep oceans, and Urodia VI, an extremely cold planet with lakes of ice, were formed. Urodia IV and VI took the best to colonization, being positioned comparably to the milky way planets venus and mars in distance to the sun. the planets' rich environments also provided their new inhabitants not only resistance to the harsh elements that they lived in, but also the ability to harness those elements. this presents in the Urodi Saladromes, the inhabitants of Urodia IV, being able to produce flame and ignite their flammable mucus and the Urodi Ambydrome, the inhabitants of Urodia VI, being able to freeze water and cover themselves in a frozen mucus shell.
Urodia V, which shouldve been the most promising to colonize due to being in the solar system's "goldilocks zone," hasnt had any contact with any current Urodi settlements. it is unknown if there are any Urodi survivors on Urodia V, though there are are a small interplanetary community of Urodi, called the "Five Alive" group, who like to believe there are Urodi still on the planet.
beyond that, the Urodis Saladrome and Ambydrome largely believe, as a society, that the only currently colonized Urodia planets are II, IV, and VI. this has led to them developing superstitions around even numbers being more lucky than odd numbers, with the luckiest numbers being, of course, 4 and 6. this has translated to how parents view their children, as the first child is often paid attention to less, having "less potential" than the second child, who is pampered and, in the case of royalty, is given the title of the heir. while Urodi rarely have more than two children, as well as usually only having clutches of one, twins are a rare but not impossible occurance. twins are seen as a sign of impossible luck and prosperity, and the societies of both planets do their best to support twins even more than second children.
the thrid and final wave of exploration sent out by the Urodi Andrias was full of hope. the previous waves were extremely exclusive, with the first being for those brave enough to go off to colonize and the second being for those who could afford to do so. the final waves, however, were open to the public, mainly as a form of evacuation, as the people of Andrias were desperate to survive. it is currently unknown if these ships managed to settle on their new homeworlds, as very little data remains of where these new planets may be. the hypothetical Urodia VII through IX are, as far as most are concerned, lost to space, but some data was able to be recovered about Urodia X.
the data claims that Urodia X was the ideal planet not just for Urodi life to flourish, but for life to flourish in general. this caused the life that existed there to grow to tremendous size, causing them to rule as monsterous kings of the world they lived on. as such, it is hypothesized by Urodi theorists that the Urodi that landed on this planet, nicknamed Urodi Newterri, were forced to develop a more survival-based mindset, which cause them to progress evolutionarily, but regress mentally, becoming more animalistic as a whole. it is thought that, if they are still alive today, they most likely are not the dominant species of their planet anymore...
and thats all! for now, of course. id love to come back and do more "And Beyond"-like posts for the rest of my amphibian species (if you want a bit more info on how the Urodi's abilities work, check out that other post!)
for now though, thanks for reading this extra long post, and ill see yall next time!
