I can’t, my straight friends are going on about how great the show is and that I’m only upset about byler (I’m upset about so many things, I didn’t even mention byler in my arguments they kept on bringing it up) when I try to mention plotholes and bad writing they say I’m just overanalysing and following the masses as if I didn’t notice the obvious plot holes myself. I’m tired of straight people not caring about gay characters or the queer community and us being a laughing stock for them. “You should be happy because Will ended up with a boyfriend or something” Will is more than being gay, what about his art or his family, when I brought this up all they had to say was “I’m so over this”. My friends even said “you can have your opinions and weird ships”, so what, just because the ship is gay it’s weird??? When my friend asked me who my favourite character was and I said Will their reply was “it’s because he’s gay, isn’t it” proving the point that Will has become nothing but just the gay guy when he’s so much more, and even then, what’s wrong with liking a character because they’re gay, maybe as a queer person it’s nice to have a character I can relate to on a level I can’t with so many others. Overall Will couldn’t even get a proper romance, his love for Mike being dumbed down to a crush, ultimately getting a random boyfriend in Mike’s imagination, the writers couldn’t even give him a developed story with an actual character. I hope you all have a better experience with your friends than I did
