I will never get over Benedict being incapable of comprehending how anyone on this planet could not love Sophie Baek. Like they've met her, haven't they?? They've spoken to her and seen how captivating and maddening and perfect she is?? How is it even possible to know her and not love everything about her?? I fell in love with her twice, what do you mean everyone else isn't also in love with her?? There must be something wrong with them! His brain just does not compute it.

That's why I think he looks so shocked during the confrontation with Araminta at the queen's ball. Benedict is a sweetheart so seeing someone be so hateful baffles him anyway, but especially when it's against Sophie. She's the greatest person he's ever met so Araminta genuinely makes no sense to him whatsoever.

Also this hug was ridiculously adorable. Everything about it is just so good. The height difference, him gently rocking her back and forth, his bent knees, the way he completely wraps around her during the hug and then cups her face after, the fireplace behind them. I'm obsessed. Love this whole scene🥰
