Thinking about a scene near the end of Deltarune Ch 5 where Flowery confronts the heroes over why it's right for them to seal the flowers' fountain and leave Castle Town's, instead of the other way around. Objectively, since the flowers are doomed to wither in darkness, and since there's so many more people who call Castle Town home that the Fun Gang can't rightfully speak for, and since most of the Flower King true Darkners can be moved, the Castle Town is the right one to keep.
But it made me think how, even in another universe, it feels like the seven fallen humans/colored flowers are being sacrificed for the sake of preserving another people's world, no matter how desperately they want to live...
Is it socially acceptable to use opaque watercolors, or is that considered gouache?
I headcanon Yellow with OCD what a shocker!!

"Flower man, flower man / with his heart in the sand"
So far the only thing I've seen of this line is people brushing over it (justifiably) cause it sounds like pure bullshit. On first glance, it doesn't make sense in the slightest. But when you look at it there are so many potential meanings to this line it drives me insane.
First is the similarity to the phrase "head in the sand," which you've almost certainly heard before but to recap it means "refusing to acknowledge something unpleasant." Which (stares at flowery's entire thing with trying to make the dark world a form of escapism for asgore, along with trying to keep it around despite knowing that the flowers cannot survive in it) could mean nothing.
Second is a bit of a reach, but it felt like something worth bringing up. When you have your heart in something, you're passionate about it and care about it a lot. It kind of makes sense that a flower would have their heart in the ground, in a part of the earth, but it also makes sense if you consider the described "flower man" to be Asgore (which, personally, i don't and i do, i feel like it relies heavily on the surrounding context of the individual lines whether or not i think the "flower man" refers to flowery or asgore). Of course the owner of a flower shop would have their heart in the earth, it kind of just makes sense...
Until you remember that most flowers can't really grow in the sand. And that's meaning three; the flower man has his heart where flowers cannot grow. This, to me, speaks to both Flowery's relationship with the dark world, and Asgore's obsession with figuring out what's going on with all the dark worlds. On Flowery's side, the "flowers cannot grow here" thing is literal; the flowers will wilt and die if they stay in the dark world, but it's their dream, they can't just leave it! And on Asgore's side, it's metaphorical. This obsession with figuring out what happened, how to stop it from happening again, his clear want for revenge... nothing good will come from it. His self-blame has already cost him so much. Good things cannot happen down this path.
The flower man has his heart in a place where flowers cannot grow.

THE ALBATROSS IS BACK………. AND HES FUCKING PISSED
Thank you all, i needed further explanation - And i do find it might help me!
just saw someone call trans unity an "unobtainable fantasy," getting real sick of the doomerisms yall are hooked on these days
What pisses me off the most is that y'all don't keep this doomerism to yourself, it would be one thing if you just wrote this shit in a diary, but y'all are putting that out there trying to scare young trans people into being divided. spreading the idea that trans unity is an "unobtainable fantasy" only serves to make trans people feel even more alone and desperate than before, during a time where being united will give us strength.
Trans people should be encouraged to find safety and community in one another, and not just with trans people that are "like them."
i feel like there is a sleep in me that needs to be slept but each time i sleep i don't sleep that sleep
"He wouldn't say that" has a beautiful cousin, and her name is "That's Not What This Story is About".
There's a story that Mark Hamill has told about how he got really in the weeds about the costuming/makeup continuity in the first Star Wars movie after they get out of the trash compactor and Harrison Ford looks at him and goes "Hey kid, it's not that kind of movie." That story has changed my brain. "It's not that kind of story" has become a permanent part of how I talk about stories in general. Sure, it would have been more logical if the characters had done that, but it's not that kind of story. Sure, the author COULD have explored deeper into the worldbuilding, but it's not that kind of story. Sometimes the point isn't to be perfectly accurate or have perfect worldbuilding or no plot holes or perfect characters with perfect arcs. They're telling a story and that comes before anything. I sometimes think that there are a lot of people that treat the stories they're reading/watching/playing like they are just A Collection of Perfectly Accurate Events Unfolding, when they're not. They're stories and the way the story is told and who is telling it is important. The way a story makes you feel can be more important than the events that play out. And then of course, there are some people who have such a wild-ass take on the story/characters that you wonder if the two of you read the same book/played the same game.
Aw he’s just looking for love
are you his beautiful wife? you are not his beatiful wife? sad snooting
