War Of Ages- Corning, NY
War Of Ages is an American Christian metalcore band from Erie, PA. Over the weekend they took over the small city of Corning, NY at a local metal-fest with acts like the Undead Messengers and Embers Fall. The crowd was pretty small, under a hundred people that did not do much on the way of crowd participation for the opening acts.
Luckily by the time War Of Ages took the stage everyone seemed to have a little bit more liquor confidence, and really turned this into the show it should have been from the beginning. They played through all their hits including: Cut Throat, Creator, All Consuming Fire, and more! They were very personable with the crowd, fist pumping everyone and even joking how one fan untied Hemp's shoes on stage during their set.
The band also shared songs off their new album, Alpha which dropped this past December. It was nice to hear a metal act so down to earth with the crowd, sharing stories of their home lives and their faith. Typically, you just see the hardcore side when it comes to metal acts, but War Of Ages really took the time to connect with fans and share a piece of their story with us. We hope to see them back to our area this summer on the iMatter Festival in Elmira!
Catch the band at this years New England Metal & Hardcore Festival or any of their remaining tour dates:

UNDEROATH RETURN-
The confirmation of what is one of rock music’s most anticipated and speculated about reunions arrives with Underøath's first new song in nearly a decade, “On My Teeth”
https://youtu.be/WlDVOIO1rIA
“We’ve had success and we’ve come through a lot of waters,” explains drummer/vocalist Aaron Gillespie. “There’s been 11,000 things we’ve been through so you would think, almost rhetorically, ‘What do you need now?’ All of us are finally in that place in our lives where the only thing we care about is inclusion for everybody—for the world. For me, exclusion is the scariest thing in the world. And I think Underoath coming back now with a new record—which none of us thought was possible—we want people to know that this is your music and you can feel however the fuck you want about it. I just want to prove that we are doing everything in the most honest way we ever have. This is the healthiest we’ve ever been as a group of people, as musicians, and in our worldview.”
Gillespie’s quote touches on the narratives behind the 11-song release: addressing the dire circumstances that led to the demise of the band, the ability to, now, be true to themselves and with their listeners as well as the individual band members disenchantment with religion.
“We took a step away and then we realized that we are a family,” adds singer Spencer Chamberlain. “We do miss it and we miss each other. We made the decision to never play again as Underoath and then we let that sit a couple of years. Band members rebuilt themselves and their friendships--and then we rebuilt the band.”

Senses Fail "Gold Jacket, Green Jacket..." Official Music Video:
On the new single, singer Buddy Nielsen shares: "This song is an attempt to give a voice to the millions of people struggling everyday to follow their dreams and passions. We as a generation have endured and sacrificed much more than our elders give us credit for. War, climate change, mass shootings, economic uncertainty and crippling debt are just some of the struggles that we have been handed by the generation before us, all while be told we aren't doing enough to succeed. Despite all this we are strive to do whats right, follow our hearts and try to leave this world a better place."
Fans will notice a dramatic shift back to the band's rock roots, honing the sound they realized on iconic records like Let It Enfold You while also embracing the future of the band and personal experiences like both the loss and birth of a child. Underneath the album's brighter, melody-driven exterior lurks a dark fascination with the concept of mortality - creating a juxtaposition of light and shadows that directly reflects on Senses Fail's marked history. Senses Fail will be hitting the road for a full U.S. tour next month with support from Reggie and the Full Effect, Have Mercy, and Household. The month-long run kicks off on February 27th in Santa Ana and wraps up on March 31st in Las Vegas, bringing Senses Fail's high-energy and passion-driven live show to fans across the country. NEWS:
Tonight Alive is celebrating the release of the music video for their latest single "Disappear" today. The super-charged track features Lynn Gunn (PVRIS) and is the third single from their upcoming album Underworld. On the track and collaboration, singer Jenna McDougall shares "Disappear is a song about the escapist inside all of us. As you can expect from Tonight Alive, the lyrics discuss freedom, but this time with a flavour of anonymity and detachment. Disappear was written with the intention of sounding neither like Pvris or Tonight Alive, and aimed to capture the sonic imagery of a long straight highway out of your comfort zone."
Musically, the upcoming album gives fans unique melodies and heavy hitting rock sounds. Lyrically, it is the most personal work they have ever put forth. It is full of moments that pushed the band to explore every aspect of themselves both creatively and emotionally. Due out January 12th, 2018 via Hopeless Records, Underworld is available for pre-order at http://smarturl.it/TAUnderworld.
Inspired by 90s grunge, Joey Arena began playing guitar at the age of 11 on an old 3-string guitar. After achieving commercial success with his first band Young Bloods, Arena struggled to find himself, and soon was traveling 8 hours on weekends from Rochester to Cleveland in search of an identity and definition for what would become Ovtlier’s debut EP What Doesn’t Kill You. After adding Paul Milne on lead-guitar, Joey Lana on drums, Cosmo Pusateri on bass, and Joe Syracusa on rhythm guitar, the full line up began playing sold-out local shows and rapidly growing their fan-base among rock music fans. Following several offers from major labels, Ovtlier set out to deliver their most personal and intense work yet.
