Figured it was high time I made a proper pinned introduction.

This is just a side blog for my WoL Lalafell Rurujova and his journey through the ffxiv universe. Occasionally I’ll post fanfics and other writings but for the most part I’m posting Gpose pictures with subtitles from the popoto himself.

Nationality: Born in Tural, but raised in Bentbranch meadows, Gridania.

Random headcanon

Rurujova goes to Tataru every so often not only to get help spiffing up his own wardrobe but to ask her what she might think Krile would enjoy in terms of fashion for him. Leading to a full blown wardrobe test fitting for him with her playing as his fashion consultant which he did not expect coming.

Everyone has a vice.

We know that imagery of things like smoking, brothel clientele, and gambling have been generally saved for villains or other “unsavory” characters; unless of course you are a regular patron of the Golden Saucer in which gambling is more than encouraged.

As a human soul, what’s your WoL/Ds heaviest addiction? Are they a collector of odd artifacts? A street gambler? A connoisseur of mulled craftsmanship? A dabbler in spirits? A seeker of activities of any kind that some might consider unsavory?

Are they ashamed of it? How did they discover this? To what extent do they go to in order to hide it? How do they keep themselves in check when it comes to their habit? Has this interest ever become a problem for them?

Not so much an addiction but more of a consequence of being a culinarian. One of his biggest vices is that he loves food. You can get him to do just about anything if he gets a good meal out of it. His favorite tastes are savory, sweet, spicy and sour. So if anyone can make him a dish of any of those four flavors? There’s a chance that Jojo will be tempted.

Giant Frogs, Giant toads, any giant amphibian. Rurujova does not, I repeat, DOES NOT TAKE KINDLY TO GIANT HOPPERS. He has to deal with so many outside Revenant’s toll and he’s gonna try avoiding them as much as possible.

It’s raining, it’s pouring. Emet Selch is snoring. He went to bed a grumpy head and wouldn’t get up in the morning.

What does your WoL/D do when it’s raining outside? Do they let it bother them? Are they the type to go singing in the rain?

Would a dark cloud or squall hinder their progress?

Are they the kind of soul that are constantly followed by little black rain clouds? Do they prefer sunny days and clear skies? What might happen if they were caught up in a hurricane? How easy is it for them to seek or build a storm proof shelter in the wilds?

What precautions do they take with their gear to make sure that everything stays water tight? How well do they swim?

Rurujova has always considered the rain a soothing ambiance noise. He’d never been known to go out dancing in it though. He does carry an umbrella just in case traveling start to take a turn for the damp. On many occasion back home he would always sit on the front porch of his home and watch the rain fall. It was also nice to fall asleep to whenever it rained at night.

Do you, as a writer, stick to the regional themes as presented by the MSQ?

How deep has your research gone in order to keep it authentic?

For instance in Kugane the theme is heavily eastern, even going so far as to mention religious and cultural traditions that differ than those in who are or once were European colonies.

In Tural most of the cultures reflect lower North America and upper South America without mentioning much about Aztec or North American indigenous culture.

Did you research more into the significance of this particular theme or stick to the simple references that were provided by the MSQ? How in depth did you dive as an author for the sake of authenticity?

It’s mostly a one to one for me in terms of writing Rurujova’s story and certain aspects of his background especially when it comes to the culture. There’s a lot I try to research up on to fill in the blanks as well. Most of, if not all the research I do comes from the Wikipedia though.

With our travels taking us all over the world and exposing us to various types of cuisine; what culture has become your WoL/Ds favorite?

What attracts them to this culinary style? Is it something that they can easily replicate on the road? What lengths do they often go to when craving said recipes? Are they a frequent visitor to the region just to sample new variations of their favorites?

Or is their favorite style of home cooking something that is more traditional where they grew up? Unfortunately their road this far has taken them so far away that they haven’t had the opportunity to return for some time and no one else seems to come close with their rendition?

What is the difference between indulgence and comfort when it comes to food to your warrior?

This is a little difficult to say because Rurujova loves food in general. It would be hard to pin down a specific cultural cuisine he enjoys most. In terms of taste however, he tends to lean toward Savory, Spicy and/or Sweet.

Many of the dishes of Tural and Thavnair feed the need for the spicy foods while places like Gridania and Limsa provide for the Savory and sweet and he would visit said places whenever he got a craving. He also frequents the culinarian’s guild just to catch a whiff of what the chefs are cooking that day.

One home cooked meal that his mother always made for breakfast was a Farmer’s Breakfast with cheese and spicy peppers. He always loved that one and always went out of his way to make it for the Scions when he was on breakfast duty for special occasions. He’s also l in charge of making food whenever they’re on the road most of the time.

Wayfinders

Does your WoL/D have a proverbial compass?

Does it always point the way home or is it more of a morality type? Perhaps both? What benefits has this instinct have for them? Had it ever steered them in a direction they did not want or were not ready for?

Have they ever ignored it because they thought they knew better only to be humbled? Has their way home been the best solution but not the one your warrior was looking for?

How often do they argue with their instinct knowing that their heart and mind are not in the same place?

Jojo’s moral compass always points true north and it’s kind of always been that way. The way, he’s always been quick to forgive even if the offender did something awful to him.

Thankfully he’s also been pretty good with directions. Due to his upbringing he had to travel a lot so knowing his cardinals was always a requirement. Rurujova can most certainly find his way home if put in the wilderness.

Glamors

What kind of style does your WoL have?

Are they a glamour hound or more of a one trick pony? Which is to say, are they able to create an iconic look and style on their own or is their signature appearance something that was a premade outfit dyed to their preference?

Do they have the same design for every class and job or are they able to utilize each glamor plate for something different? Do they find themselves frustrated because they run out of plates for new styles and have to dismantle an outfit they love to make room for the possible next new trend?

How often do they use classic styles like lore outfits like metían attire or the strife collection? Do they avoid these all together? What about their generic race gear? Do they ever sport traditional garb?

What makes your warrior stand out at a glance?

Rurujova doesn’t have the best sense of fashion. Granted being the heir to a chocobo farming monopoly did afford him the luxury of finer garments, he didn’t know exactly what clothes fit him in terms of style.

At least not until he met Tataru. After she made him his first set of scion garments, he’s trusted her with his clothing choices. The same is true for his glamours. He has been going to her whenever he completes a set by himself and adjusts the look according to what she thinks.
