It’s finally happened.
After almost a decade on this site, I found another Tumblr user in the wild. I stopped to tie my shoe with rainbow laces this morning outside the silversmith at Colonial Williamsburg, and I heard it.
“I like your shoelaces.”

I responded the only way I could. “Thanks.” And then I reluctantly added, “I stole them from the president…and if that makes sense to you, I’m very sorry.”
The poor man, in full Colonial dress, stared at me for a long moment. And then burst into laughter. And said, “I haven’t thought about that in YEARS and this has never happened to me before.”

Last night I dreamed that they made a Toy Story live action remake. It was actually alright and used puppetry and costumes for the toys instead of CGI.
The major differences though is that Woody and Buzz had intense chemistry and swore. Buzz also was more of a vigilante than a 100% hero And he might've had sex with some kind of barbie? (It was implied)
Anyway I intensely remember Buzz trying to call Star Command and failing for obvious reasons. Instead of him deciding he was stranded and try to fix up his "ship" he said "Screw it I'm going rogue, I don't give a fuck"

i know it's because they didn't have the kind of modern medical knowledge we do back then but reading about polar exploration history is hysterical in hindsight because so many of these guys heard accounts from their fellow explorers describing the absolutely hellish obstacles they faced from both the extreme environment and their own mental and physical deterioration and were like "skill issue" and then went there to prove it and encountered the exact same problems
