Damn it's been a while since I actually dusted this blog off.

Hiiiii I am alive.

Just older and into different things now (been doing a lot of DnD mostly. Both DMing and playing)

Also work's been a bit chaotic bc I work with kids and my job is funded by the Department of Education and Kill Bill Sirens in the distance what was that.

(Support TRIO programs BTW if ur in the US. Yah boy would have never finished college without them and now that's his career.)

Also I started SSRIs recently (this is my third week) so I've been like. Feeling a lot more outgoing and talkative and confident.

I might rewatch TFP once summer hours start at work. IDK.

"haunting the narrative" is one of those phrases i wanna put up on a shelf. not all characters that are dead haunt the narrative. not all characters that are dead haunt the narrative. not all characters that haunt the narrative are dead.

a character who haunts the narrative is a character whose presence in the story itself is sparse to none (!!!!!) but whose actions have major consequences to the story and help to build the theme of the work (!!!!!!!!!) if blorbo blingus doesnt tick both these boxes then im sorry. they are not haunting the narrative. they just died.

The phrase "Two autistics that flirt by just staring at each other" has been a reoccurring joke in my friend group ever since I first uttered the phrase and now I'm finally confident enough in drawing Transformers to make a drawing of the mental image that caused it

A lot of people headcanon prowl as being autistic for his absolute worst traits, and use this headcanoned autism as absolution for his worst acts, and I think that says a lot about how they view autistic people + think autism absolves people of being responsible for the harm they cause, both of which are incredibly abelist beliefs and the latter being incredibly infantilizing.

an extra fun variation: people will claim that Prowl being 'autistic coded' is problematic because of said traits and therefore said infantilization is just a response to correct the canon's purported ableism as a corrective measure to Fix Canon, and when you ask how exactly he is 'autistic coded', the argument will be that... autistic characters in media are often given those negative traits he has as a result of stereotypes, so the fact he has them counts as 'coding' in itself. and if you try and say 'well, the problem is that characters portrayed as autistic are also assumed to be those things so often, it's not a problem if a character not portrayed as autistic is those things because that's not what is used to suggest they are autistic in the first place', you get told... but he's 'autistic coded'. because [list of Prowl Is An Asshole moments]. which is problematic so canon needs fixing!

and the circular logic never resolves into the obvious question, which is 'hey, why the hell do characters portrayed as assholes Just Feel Obviously Autistic to you, exactly...?'
