Snoke was right tho. Kylo Ren has too much of his father in him. Falling in love with a girl as soon as she beat him up was just about the most Han Solo thing he could’ve done.

imagine in episode ix during the last battle, it’s all out chaos between the FO and the resistance; finn, poe, rose, chewie etc are all fighting to their last breath. but when the resistance is taking heavy losses and when all hope seems lost, the falcon zooms in and takes down like half of the FO’s army. everyone gets all excited and they’re cheering when they see rey waving in the gunner’s seat as the ship flies by. then finn realises something and goes “wait, if rey’s the gunner, then who’s flying?”

and it cuts to ben’s grinning face in the cockpit, swerving the ship around to give rey another clean shot at the FO’s fleet.

Did anyone notice...

that everytime Kylo Ren (Ben) and Rey are together in the same place (except for the force bonds because they’re not physically together) Ben always at some point ended up kneeling towards Rey?

Interrogation room:

Just right after he met her, he is kneeling watching at her

Chewie’s shot:

He fell kneeling and the next thing he does is looking towards Rey

Fighting Rey:

She hit him and he fell kneeling and looking at her

Throne room (aka red room):

Right after the elevator scene when she is towards Snoke, he kneels behind her, and again, he is looking at her (even while she is being tortured by Snoke in front of him)

Right after the battle of Crait:

His most famous kneel, at the end of TLJ (although that it’s during a bond, I included because they’re pretty close in the same place, she is right outside behind the mountain in the ship towards him) again, he’s eyes are on her

A great observation!^^^ Kylo Ren’s image is deeply rooted in knightly symbolism and rituals. Pledge of fealty being one (bending the knee), but also, of course, courtly love. He is a knight, kneeling in front of his Fair Lady, but also his destined Queen, pledging his sword, life and heart to her. It’s beautiful, come to think of it. The fact that the Fair Maiden is a Scavneger, but is also a Magic Warrior, that’s just… He already wears her ‘favor’ in battle  - the scar she gave him. Gotta hope one of the upcoming times he bends his knee in front of her - it would be ask for her hand.

Why is it ok to accept that Rey was abused as a child, but somehow not Ben; who had an evil old man grooming him from birth and parents who were absent?

Why is it ok to suggest that any negative action towards Rey is abuse, while she can call Ben a monster and slash his face open while receiving nothing but praise?

What are we taught by these suggestions?

That a boy who has been abused is less likely to receive sympathy than a girl

That girls are inherently victims, and cannot be involved in altercations with men without being viewed as such

That men are inherently perpetrators and will be viewed as such

That violence towards men is ok

Quite honestly It’s this sort of thinking that sends children the wrong message. Let children know that Ben Solo can be redeemed, despite his bad choices. Let them know that while his abuse went unnoticed by many, Rey now cares and will fight for him. Let them understand that Rey was wrong in some of her actions and assumptions.

Show them that men and women can both have bad things happen to them, that they both make mistakes sometimes and that they both deserve the support needed to heal
