OH . . . EVERYTHING HURTS. She remembers a big crevasse having opened up in the valley while she was riding with her human, and she remembers falling down it . . .

'Awoouh,' Groggy sore, the adolescent parasaurolophus slowly pushes herself to her feet. The space around here is narrow but breathable for a dinosaur her size, and she's fortunate to not have been buried alive! But now she doesn't know where she is . . . these tunnels, were they man-made?

Still exhausted, she lets out a call for her rider, hopeful that they were nearby, or at least safe.

'I DON'T WANT TO START A FIGHT,' He warned, telepathic voice commanding, yet reluctant. It wasn't like Keldeo was against drawing his sword towards a human—quite frankly, the colt had found that actions speak louder than words. However, he did have a silent respect for pokemon who lived among them, even if he felt he could not pledge loyalty to one.

Long ago, he'd learned that reasoning with a trainer's pokemon and persuading them to flee was beyond impossible. Some loved theirs too much. Others were afraid. Some, just didn't have a choice otherwise.

Thusly, while the Zoroark's snarky comment earns some amount of reaction; that being the slight narrow of his eyes—Keldeo keeps his cool in the name of maintaining an authoritative facade. As a Sword, as a deliverer of Justice, he must command respect.

'But challenge me and I will end one. This forest is under the protection of my fellow Swords.' He declares, giving a small turn of the head to display the sharp, ridged edges of the azure blade on his head. 'Humans are forbidden to enter for the sake of the pokemon that live here. I will make no exceptions.'

AN AZURE HOOF MIGHT EXTEND, EVER SO GENTLY lifting up one of the sapling's fragile leaves with a tender care unseen by many. As the trunk and the roots of a long-dead tree are ripped from the earth with a groan, Keldeo steps up to the resulting ditch, and lifts that same hoof. From underfoot, water trickles forth in slow but steady drops, dampening the soil around to make it malleable.

So few had earned the faith of a beast such as he. The Swords were proud by nature, and generally untrusting of humans. He was doubly so thanks to his upbringing. Yet, despite human appearances, the witch is an ally, so tender to the natural world yet just against the transgressions humanity has committed. Keldeo narrows his gaze, mild disgust and agreement furrowing in his features.

'It really is a shame.' He admits. 'Y'know, I know they aren't devoid of kindness, but it seems like more often, what they leave behind does more harm than good.' Then, a small equine snort. 'A forest could stand tall and healthy for a thousand years, then woosh. A single fire caused by man wipes it out in a blink of an eye, and suddenly a dozen lives are left without their homes or worse.'

Just as he finishes getting the campfire set up, a voice pulls him from his thoughts, rising to his feet fully as his gaze sweeps across the area, a warmth to it considering the compliment thrown his way. "Thank you." He absentmindedly remarks to the figure before returning to his work, ensuring there won't be a fire hazard when he lights it for the night that he plans to spend here until he continues onwards.

Wait a minute.

"By Idrila-" Nearly giving himself whiplash when he gazes upon the figure, a sky behemoth, a cub of one? An offspring of its terrifying beauty? He's not exactly sure what to make of the beast that he gazes upon, that looks back at him with far too much intelligence to be dismissed, and it's capable of speaking. He can tell that the Synthesia beacon he possesses is working overtime to not only translate his words into something the other can comprehend but vice versa.

And yet, at the current moment, he senses no hostility. Therefore, he shifts a hand down, the sword that the other commented upon is an accessory he had bought to help with simpler things that using a lance would be less effective with. Casually dismissing it into the ether, the imaginary construct of reality before drawing upon the path energy and summoning his lance. Using it for a bit of support on the uneven ground as he gives a bow of greeting.

"Forgive me, I was not aware that the beautiful creatures upon this planet were capable of speech. I am Argenti, Honorclad of The Knights of Beauty. May I ask your name?"

A CURIOUS PAW MIGHT REACH OUT TO POKE THE HILT of the weapon, but so swiftly does it withdraw, the cursed child recoiling like he'd been caught trying to snatch candy from a jar. His short little muzzle wrinkled, lips pulling into a taut little frown while he looks mildly aghast—not so much at the knight's amazement, moreso at his description.

"Creature?" He parrots, mildly offended. "Huh. I suppose you would look upon this body and see as much." With a grunt, he hops down from the log onto the ground, and then elegantly sits himself down, tail twitching with mild annoyance like a felyne that had had its underbelly poked. "Though I would hardly call this form beautiful! I am Lord Gale Augustus of House Daedric! I can recognize a fellow noble pretty much anywhere."

Unfortunately, the dragonet does not let Argenti stew in this knowledge. He quickly leans in, before scrambling onto the log again to peer over Argenti's shoulder, ignorant of personal space. "So, do you happen to know any wise practicioners of magic? Perhaps, a curse breaker? You seem like the knowledgeable type—good at making connections. Why, that armor isn't from any of the local circles, so you must be a traveler or vagabond of some kind!"

Was that the wrong thing to say?? But the other had asked, so why would he lie? He gets the feeling he doesn't like humans very much...

"Do you want me to leave?" He'd do so if asked. He wasn't sure where he had wandered to to begin with, honestly. "If you really wanna know... I was blessed by two of the Tapu in my home region."

Yeah, he heard you murmur. His senses are better than a human's, that's for sure.

"...Err..." This is a bit of an awkward situation. "My name's Hau, if that helps?"

'THE TAPU?' AND THEN IT CLICKS. The odd features, the strange air this human held . . . they had earned the favor of ancient island deities. Though Keldeo maintained bias, obviously having gained a legendary pokemon's blessing is simply too intriguing to ignore. At the very least, this human had to be special in some way, to have obtained such a thing.

Which brings him to his mission. The pokemon here had requested he seek out the aid of a human with the sky's blessing. If the wings didn't already make him suspicious, then this only made him certain.

'You're the one I'm looking for. Come with me quickly. There are pokemon who seek your aid.'

"The world is cruel, but I won't be." (*yeets Hope at Keldeo or Latias*)

'UNTIL DESPERATION COMPELS YOU TO DO OTHERWISE? Give me a break.' Keldeo is no fool—though his bias is clear, he did not completely turn a blind eye to the humans of this world that meant well. Mankind brought great suffering, but it also brought unity. Humans had this strange way of winning others' hearts, be it others of their kind, or pokemon. But, Keldeo knows that no man is perfect. Nor was he. Nor was any of them.

Even Arceus, whose rings stretched beyond the confines of their reality, could be a wrathful god. 'I know there are humans out there who care. Just as there are humans who don't. But whether through reckless mistake or pure malicious intent, the pain your kind has wrought is felt deeper than the joy.'

'But I'm not a judge to determine whether a man is guilty or not. I'm the executioner. I'm the one who brings people to Justice. So I ask again, what should your intentions matter to me?'

He loved being able meet new Pokemon on his journey. Sipping on his coffee as he sits in his campsite with his other companions. Watching them play as he smiles and carefully reaches out to pat the head of the Keldeo who came to wander into their camp. Augustine smiles gently. ❝ You're more than welcome to have lunch with us little one. ❞ (from Augustine)

INSTINCTIVELY, THE COLT RECOILS. His head almost flinches at the human hand which draws near to his face, and Augustine's fingers would grasp air, as the proud yet wary Keldeo snorts.

Humans were a particular bunch. Since he'd been a foal barely able to walk, Keldeo had known them as destructive. On his travels with his mentors, the young pokemon had seen the pain and oppression they had brought upon his kin. Some men coveted strength that they themselves could not attain, so they sought to gain it by controlling pokemon far more powerful than one could imagine. It made Keldeo sick.

For Augustine to have drawn the attention of such a wary beast was an achievement in itself. For Keldeo to approach, albeit cautiously, almost unprecedented. Maybe that spoke to the tire on the colt's face, and the hunger boiling deep into his stomach.

He hadn't seen his mentors in months, and he was starving. This particular area was experiencing a drought, and Keldeo would not be able to leave without first attaining the strength he needed. Which was through food.

'Don't touch me,' He warns tiredly.

i have seen the worst that humanity has to offer... and yet i'm still standing.

the world can keep knocking me down, but i'll get back up.

i don't give up.

i just want to live a peaceful life.

i don't want conflict.

there were nicer ways to ask that, you know.

i don't want to hurt anybody.

i still don't hate you.

i want peace at all costs.

if you would only try and see the world from my point of view.

both of them have at least some vague connection to bodies of water and I think that's great.

Hau watches as the Pokémon steps in closer. There didn't seem to be any ill intent there, though. At least not yet.

"I... I am, yeah." He'd heard that question a lot ever since the blessing Tapu Koko bestowed on them had caused them to grow these feathery appendages.

"My name's Hau."

'HUH,'"' THERE'S A LIGHT SCOFF, and another twitch of that aqua plume. Keldeo squints one eye slightly in almost childish scrutiny—he has lived for centuries, yet he still likened to a teenager in comparison to the other Swords. "Well, you're certainly the first human in a while who has gotten this close and not left with a mark on them."

The statement is made to establish that some mild tension was there. As a Sword of Justice—protector of pokemonkind—Keldeo did not feel inclined to have sympathy for humans. He'd seen plenty of the suffering they have brought upon themselves and others.

. . . Yet, he cannot ignore those who were loyal to their humans. Some pokemon truly treasured humanity, even in the darkest of facets. He'd heard tales of some powerful individuals who blessed worthy humans with their strength.

Was this one of them? 'Yet I get the sense that there's more to you than just those wings sprouting from your back. I know strength when I see it.' He murmurs.
