I asked my friend Fadel if he and his family were safe. @fadel-dani told me:
My friend Fadel was only recently discharged from the hospital after almost dying from severe anemia, and while still trying to recover, Israelis began these strikes. How many ways must he fear dying all at once?
Fadel survived the bombing of his home over 600 says ago. He needs to get to a better resourced hospital outside Gaza that can surgically remove the shrapnel embedded in his body. Most sources are indicating that Rafah Crossing will open tomorrow (Feb 2) for the first time since May 2024.
Please help Fadel raise the money he needs to get to a hospital as soon as possible. Help his family to survive this genocide.

“I can scarcely believe you’re real,” she whispered, her breath brushing the curve of his neck like a prayer.

Javier stands there, a breath caught in his lungs, the hollow space where she stood still buzzing around him. He turns, his footsteps heavy in the hallway, the weight of his thoughts pressing in. He’s already lost, he knows it. But for reasons he can’t fully grasp, it doesn’t feel like the tragedy it should. I am utterly, utterly obsessed with the transformation in Colin's face when he says "touch me"...
It's so subtle but so damn effective. He goes from this sort of gently amused and bashful hint of a smile, looking away for just a moment while he collects himself... And then with a minuscule tucking of his chin and a microsecond flutter of his eyelids that ever so slightly tightens and narrows his eyes, suddenly we have an expression of just completely bald vulnerability.
And in this moment, what he's saying—"You could...touch me..."—goes from what might have been a sort of flippant suggestion—"Well, you could touch me, if you wanted..."—to raw, helpless need—"Please. Touch me."
This is a man who, some months earlier, had two prostitutes at a time groping at him in a brothel. But the idea of Penelope touching him—of him asking Penelope to touch him—splits him wide open.

I love how he looks at her while she enjoys how he touches her. I mean WHAAAAAAT COLIN BRIDGERTON WHY SO PERFECT!? IT DRIVES ME CRAZY TO SEE YOU WHEN YOU SEE HER ENJOY IT FOR GOD'S SAKE!
His face is mesmerizing in every scene where he looks at her in the meantime. It takes my breath away watching him do that, I swear. WHERE DO I FIND ONE LIKE YOU DEAR COLIN?
taking a forensics class and watching the professor explain one by one how criminal profiling, hair microscopy, and bite mark analysis are all pseudoscience responsible for ruining innocent lives, and how on top of that, fingerprint analysis, despite being significantly more reliable, is subjective and prone to contextual bias. and also bullet striation analysis has the same issues. and also bullet lead analysis doesn’t work. and also handwriting analysis has an error rate high enough to render it useless
