Two Sides of the Same Coin

I don't know how bad doebi mama's character is going to go in the drama. But I feel like the crucial thing that makes Huiju different from Queen Mother I rang is the presence and absence of the care and warmth of their respective husbands.
Lets not forget our FL didn't marry out of love but out of ambition as well. Had I-an not been the protective, loving, caring and understanding partner that he is, Huiju's heart wouldn't have softened. And given her volatile temper, it was more likely for her to engage in the dirty royal politics than sit out of it.
And from the Queen's monologues, it's kind of obvious that her husband was a neglectful one. One might say it does not erase her wrongdoings. No, it does not. But one can't help but wonder if things would've turned out differently had the late king(her husband) loved her and was protective of her the way I-an is of Huiju. For all we know, beyond all her insecurities and desperation to hold power is a woman who craved for love, warmth and protection.
That makes me feel I-rang and Huiju are simply two sides of the same coin- different fate and different circumstances make them two starkly different people.
