After the events of The Veilguard, Taash has to sort out Shathann's house. When they do, they discover records related to the Qun, including records of their breeding, and the identity of their father. Their father, who turns out to be a certain Tal-Vashoth mercenary of some repute.
āItās not exactly bad news, Taash,ā Isabela says. āAt least your dadās not the bloody Arishok or something.ā
Taash glares at her, looking frantic, and ā oh dear, something sadder than simply anger. Anger Isabela was prepared for, but the disappointment that turns Taashās brow tight, eyes wild ā sheās not sure how to stem the tide of it.
āI thought it would be more useful! Whatās the point of any of this? Iām so stupid, thinking this was going to be any use, itās just more Qun vashadan! Iāll never know what happened to him, he might just work on a farm on Par Vollen, or maybe he died! Or been one of those invading Antaam! What if Iāve already put an axe in my dad?!ā
Taash wheels around, looking at Harding, probably expecting to find her adorable, sympathetic face looking at her, ready to offer calm words. Except, no ā Hardingās admittedly still adorable face is scrunched up pensively, staring into the middle distance.
Taash goes still, clearly caught off guard by it too. Their shoulders square again, tense in a new way.
Harding drags her eyes back, looking between Isabela and Taash a few times, before she settles her gaze on Taash, sits a little straighter. She takes a breath, bracing her hands on her knees.
