when we started talking about getting a small-breed dog I was like, "I will NEVER turn into one of those people who treats their little dog like a doll or an accessory by forcing them to dress up in ridiculous outfits. Dogs HATE that. They should get to be DOGS, and that means not having to wear anything but a HARNESS and being FREE to ROLL in the MUD." and then I adopted a dog who throws a fit if you try to take him for a walk without letting him pick out a bow tie first. a dog who loves wearing pajamas so much that I'm about to spend a disgusting amount of money on several sets of linen ones for summer. a dog who watches me wave at him to follow me through a mud puddle and just stands there blinking up at me like, "are you fucking serious? and get my paws wet?"
me: I will raise him no differently than the two 80-lb labs I had growing up. absolutely no hoity-toity frou frou little yapyap dog stuff. he's gonna be a good ol' fashioned, rough-and-tumble, capital D-O-G—
—never mind. the boy yearns to be ensweatered
to celebrate the popularity of this post, I ordered him another set of the linen jammies in yellow. now he looks like paddington bear
the etsy seller threw in a little miniature hermes silk scarf as a freebie and I dare you to tell me he doesn't know how handsome he looks in it. whenever we take it off of him he broods like he's a wealthy victorian orphan child in desperate need of a seaside holiday to restore his delicate aristocratic constitution
seriously imagine how much you could baffle the general public with this as your leash walk loadout:
I walk these two together:

What if after everything thats been set up and the prophecy stuff we just need to use rouxls 'rules card' to change the prophecy.
Hello; I made the webcomic RICE BOY 20 years ago; I am premiering a big video essay about that on Twitch, Sunday June 14 at 9pm EST if you would like to come by. Starting a preliminary curated music pre-show thing at 8pm EST
video will be up on youtube afterwards

tree grafting techniques
@cribins do these work? do you use any of them? is this just clickbait or?
Not only is this legit, it’s unbelievably neat and tidy! I’ve done some of the grafting techniques, but I tend to (because *gestures to self*) end up cutting my hands more than the plant material.
Grafting is really common. Most edible fruit trees, cultivated roses, some tomato plants etc are grafted onto a different rootstock as standard- you can control size that way, or make a useful but weak plant much stronger. As long as your two plants are related closely enough and you have cambium to cambium connection (cambium is the thin layer of green under the bark), you can do all sorts of weird shit - like a single tree that gives you plums, cherries, apricots, peaches and almonds.
And layering is fun! Free plants! The plant will sometimes do this itself when a branch touches the ground and starts sprouting roots.

Love how you can tell which birds are the smart birds and which birds are dumb as all shit

Australian magpies, despite not being magpies, are out here committing the most magpie-like behaviour.... *Chaos*.

the graduation short film i made two years ago is now public. enjoy!
the passage of time feels unreal. i have many feelings on this film and a lot of things i wish i did differently. but after a long, long time i came to accept it as it is. its gone to so many festivals, including annecy which greatly surprised me, and i cant help but me a little bit proud of myself, even if i think the final product has flaws that i wish i could correct. its alright. i havent animated since i finished this, minus some puppet animation ive done on a show for a job i had. i hope i can return to this medium once more, with another film. i hope i can finish saturn one day, too. thanks
Drawings of a vivid dream I had several years ago about wish-granting dolls.
Happy Valentine’s Day- Show your friends that your feelings will NEVER go extinct with some cambrian critters.
