“Whatever you’re meant to do, do it now. The conditions are always impossible.”

I found this on the public printer yesterday and now it's part of our decor and I'm kind of obsessed

Families are so lonely the worst part of dating someone is being around their family and feeling alone and on edge and not belonging. At least they're perfectly nice and it's just me and my complex making it unpleasant.

i am just moved by everything now. i'm porous and everything gets inside me
"The basic tools of my life are those I learned in recovery (sure enough I didn't learn them growing up). Simple tools: be honest, talk about your problems, don't isolate, no feeling lasts forever, feelings aren't facts. I hear the voices of friends over the years: meditation, moderation, and masturbation. Be responsible for the bomb inside your own heart. There is a peaceful place within — find it.
Recovery today is simply about being given back a life. Life where shit happens, people die, violence is, and, oh yeah, love happens, people are born, and peace and serenity can be found. Recovery is a given, a part of my life.
The hard work is figuring out what to do with a life now that I have one."
--Arlene (Ari) Istar, The Largest Onion, found in The Next Steps: Lesbians in Long-Term Recovery (1994), edited by Jean Swallow, pg. 106-107
Sometimes I suddenly remember I have a debilitating mental illness and I'm like oh yeah no wonder things are harder for me...
I have in my life gone backpacking, bikepacking, kayak camping, and dog sled camping and now I need the gear to go paddleboard camping.
My whole personality is paddleboarding now let's all go to the river

Just planned my training schedule to prep for hiking the enchantments at the end of august... 18 miles... in 12 hours. I recognize this is insane but I'm doing it with two equally insane friends who are at a similar fitness level so if we all take training seriously we won't die from exhaustion.
