"queer-owned business" means nothing anymore. OpenAI and Palantir are both queer-owned businesses.
if this is how you find out that both sam altman and peter thiel are gay im sorry
People can be part of an oppressed group and virtuous, or be oppressed and ruthless. Alternatively, they have only one level of an opression factor balanced out by 5 privileges (white, male, rich etc) so it overrides the one minority factor. Sometimes, people are just assholes despite or because of struggle. That's how nuance works.

Fandom Problem #13,716:
By the way, censorship doesn't care if the subject matter is "handled tastefully" or not. The same law that seeks to ban rape kink porn would also be used to ban a memoir written by a survivor about how they recovered from their assault.
has anyone noticed that after the porn ban of 2018 tumblr was essentially killed from the mainstream and everyone flocked to other social media sites like twitter and meta. then those sites got enshittified to where twitter became Nazi Central and meta sites had an entire meme around getting āzuccedā aka mark zuckerberg himself would ban you for saying a no-no word like fuck. and then the mainstream shifted to tiktok where infamous toddlerspeak sentences like āhe got unalived by a pew pewā were born because if you once again say a no-no word like kill or gun or any other word that isnāt corporate i mean kid friendly then the algorithm will bury your post into the ground. and somehow weāve come full circle and tumblr is now the most bearable social media site because although we canāt have female presenting nipples we can at least talk to each other like adults. has anyone noticed that at all or is it just me and the flaming skull
This was on a post about how it's ignorant and privileged to wear headphones in public and I fear its already become a part of my vocabulary. Must everything harbor a moral failure.
Iām not Christian, I donāt go to church anymore, and my pastor died, but when he was alive Iād sometimes go to his sermons and I remember one time he said āit feels good to hate, but we know that it isnāt allowed, so when weāre told that weāre allowed to hate someone we get so excited that we forget weāre supposed to loveā, and if my humble atheist ass might borrow some church talk Iād like to perhaps submit that
Anyhow sometimes on the day to day I feel disgust or revulsion and I have to ask myself āis this a danger to anyone at all or am I just looking for something Iām allowed to hateā and a solid 98/100 times itās the latter so once again thank you pastor D
at some point in your life you are going to do or say something racist, sexist, or otherwise bigoted. Your goal is not perfection, your goal is to be the kind of person that the people you've hurt feel safe being honest with when that happens.
Posting on AO3 is like, I'm doing this for myself, but also immediately refreshing the page every 5 seconds to see if you get any hits comments or kudos. But totally only writing for me.
Iām not a classicist, but I suspect one of the reasons so many of the Greek gods are portrayed so unflatteringly was less because they were seen as villains than because they represented their domains.Ā Of course Zeus sometimes misuses his power, thatās what a king does.Ā Of course Artemisās wrath is wild and painful, thatās what nature can be.Ā Of course Hades snatched away a young girl from her motherās arms, thatās what death does.Ā This is one of the reasons callout posts for some gods comparing them negatively toĀ ānicerā gods are kind of missing the point.
as someone who is partially a classicist, this is a better analysis of Greek mythology as a whole than 99.95% of the takes Iāve seen on here (and a substantial number of the takes Iāve seen in ~academia~)
Not to sound like a decrepit, rambling corpse about it, but back in my day Word used to be a pre installed program that came with your computer, if you were running Windows.
No subscription. Just program.
On your computer. You got to use it forever and ever and never had to worry about it going away.
Because it was physically on your computer. As a program. That you actually owned. Not because you got it separately, but because it was a standard inclusion with your computer.
I'm sorry but I'll just never get over it. I remember when companies cared about their products being usable out of the box. I remember when our things belonged to us.
