“belgard”
— (noun) An obsolete word, belgard is defined as a sweet or loving look. Although it is quite a strange sounding word, a belgard displays a silent intimacy. Classic signs of this display of affection involve tilting your head at your loved one when they speak, the coquette raise of the eyes, a smile, and a kind, amorous glance. We don’t want to ruin the moment, but we are also positively certain your dog stares at you like this too!Â
Oh, nothing. It's just an image of Bailey looking at Sam, listening to her story about her childhood. I'm not crying you're crying.
walking in the clouds for a day...
Hey, remember the time TPTB ended an episode with this? I do, all day every day. She looks so, so contented. Sigh.
Theme to Profiler (1996)
I wish they still had themes to shows like this, so hauntingly gorgeous.
Great, great work by Angelo Badalamenti.
and now you are and i am now and we're
a mystery which will never happen again,
a miracle which has never happened before-

For finnishvixen, as promised :)
Thanks again! Kind of a fun bit of trivia: Jack killed Tom with a hand gun (per "Modus Operandi"). So many feels from this scene... which I will detail below. ;)
Jack lures Sam to think of Bailey - whee and ouchie! He leads her to believe that Bail died with Sam on his mind - double ouch, but also whee for my shipping tendencies! Jack compares killing Bail to spilling milk - insulting my tv husband will not go unpunished, you swine!
A request from finnishvixen. I’ll post the longer one tomorrow.
And, there go my feels. Thank you so, so much!
That moment of victory over yourself...
...when you publish a new chapter to a fic you've left to languish for nearly a year, whilst fully intending to finish it eventually. So, I'm gonna pretend that Bailey is looking at me like so:
I still remember the following lines by Jack and Sam - what a surprise, eh?
Jack:"And that cabin was..."
Sam: "Bailey..."
Jack: "Bailey. You should be flattered. The last word he said on this earth was 'Sam'."
(Any chance you could gif that for me? /me being utterly shameless)
Taking a trip down memory lane...
So, this little screen cap is from Sander/Moses Productions website, from a video they've put on their site, showcasing their work. I may be mistaken, but the second from the right image on the top row looks like Sam and Bailey. The thing is, for the life of me, I cannot place the scene. And believe me, if I can't place it, it's a bloody miracle. I have every last one of the scenes they shared burnt in my memory. So... could this be from the first season episode we lost, Deathwatch? Thoughts, anyone?
you could be happy and I won't know but you weren't happy the day I watched you go
and all the things that I wished I had not said are played in loops 'til it's madness in my head
is it too late to remind you how we were but not our last days of silence, screaming, blur
most of what I remember makes me sure i should have stopped you from walking out the door
you could be happy, I hope you are you made me happier than I'd been by far
somehow everything I own smells of you and for the tiniest moment it's all not true
do the things that you always wanted to without me there to hold you back, don't think, just do
more than anything I want to see you, girl take a glorious bite out of the whole world
That moment tho...
...when you realize that you've shipped, and continue to ship, your OTP more than you've ever shipped yourself with anyone. And you're kinda okay with it.
Trying to get back into ficcing mode, and this video is helping me along nicely. It's been years since I saw the goodbye scene (don't own seasons 3 or 4 on DVD), so I actually squealed when it came on. Awww! If someone would care to either screencap or even gif it for me, I'd give up my first-born in return... Or maybe I'd just drown you in gratitude AND reblog it with lyrics from "You Could Be Happy" by Snow Patrol. Whichever you'd prefer.
You’re stuck? Poor you. Fuck it. It’s a mental thing. Don’t give in. Think through it. Karate-punch the story. Kick it in the teeth until it yields. You’re the boss. Worse comes to worse: write around the gap. Got a section where you don’t know what happens? Write in 144-point font: WHO THE FUCK KNOWS? FIGURE THIS FIDGETY SHIT OUT LATER and then write the next section. A stuck story might be you feeling stuck when really, the story’s zipping along just fine. And even if there really is a problem, you can’t always identify the problem until you’re done the whole damn thing. So: you’re stuck? Fuck it. Fuck you. You’re not the horse. You’re the rider. The one with the spurs, the buggy whip, the carrot at the end of a stick. Make it move. Get it done. Your words are a battering ram: knock the door down and walk on through.
