New work for @beatnikstudios in Sacramento. A massive 48”x60” Eucalyptus is inked and drying. One print will be up for grabs off this massive 2000lb slice of tree starting October 5th 6-9pm for the opening reception through November 2nd. That ludicrous 42” bar on my chainsaw WAS totally necessary. We pulled a 2000lb slice off of a felled eucalyptus in the canyon. Measuring a flat surface to ink around 42x60inches. New hobby, who dis? #tbt or really Saturday when I had a moment to zone out and try my hand growing clay. Currently I’m sitting in a brief moment to myself surrounded by work to be done, so many new things - lots of hard hard physically exhausting work. I have never worked so hard and been so driven to keep going. The best part is, I see the drive pickup steam in my family. Leif wants to do just a bit more to help. Jessie is filling all the gaps I can’t seem to pull it together for. I guess this is a moment of pride in the stress... that families pull tighter when it gets real. Today I am drilling holes. It’s not thaaat fun, but I am doing it. I am doing it to turn the ship around for hard work, for work that is labor. I am determined to bring up a resurgence of hard work. The beer that started it all for me in 2007. I took a quick trip to Ft Collins Colorado just after we moved to Chicago. Our hosts insisted on a tasting at New Belgium, so we obliged. A few interesting beers and one stopped me dead in my tracks LaFolie - its name asks you to follow your folly and that’s where you will find your true joy. Eleven years later it finds me, bottled in 2007 from THE SAME BATCH!!!!!! As I fall deeper into following my folly.
