I love old prodigal son press releases/descriptions that were used in early interviews bc the way they talk about malcolm is so different than how he actually is in the show. like you can tell they were working off the assumption that he'd be a dexter morgan/anti-hero or tortured genius type of character. I saw one in a pre series interview with tom that called malcolm "gleefully amoral." and not that I don't think there are examples of malcolm doing some ethically questionable things lmao but amoral is not the right word for it...if anything he will justify actions with morality, he's super concerned about what is "right" or "wrong" in any given situation, and that's why when we see him do things that are more ethically dubious, the context is he believes he's doing it for the greater good (like convincing the robbers to shoot each other in 1x16 or telling his father to torture the woodsman in 2x13).

Prodigal Son Secret Santa Sign-Ups

Reminder that you have until 11:59pm EST on October 1st to sign up for Prodigal Son Secret Santa! Participants can create fanart, fanfic, gifsets, fanmixes, moodboards, etc, anything you can think of!

Fill out the form if you'd like to participate. You will be assigned your recipient before October 5th and you will have between December 20th and January 1st to post your gift. Extra gifts can be posted through the whole month of January.

Everyone who signs up will be asked if they would like to receive extra gifts, if you say yes, your responses to the form will be shown not just to your secret santa, but to all other participants. All participants will be sent a sheet with the responses of participants who would like to receive extra gifts. If you would like to create an extra gift--- for a friend, for a mutual, for a total stranger who happens to like the same characters as you--- feel free!

Love when whumpee turns up completely out of the blue. Nobody knew they had been taken/attacked/in an accident/etc., as far as they knew whumpee was fine.

Whumpee just walks into an otherwise perfectly normal situation with the living shit beat out of them, swaying dangerously, eyes unfocused.

Everyone present is shocked. Someone jumps up to catch whumpee before they fall, helping them into a chair or easing them to the ground.

“Oh my god, Whumpee, what happened?!” | “Who did this to you?” | “How did you even get here?” | “Shit, you’re hurt.” | “Here, sit down before you fall down.”

Malcolm has been missing for 4 days now. Leads are running dry, cctv is turning up nothing but grainy footage of empty streets or irrelevant faces. Then, the team receives a USB pen drive. Unmarked. Wiped clean of prints. Their only option... open the file contained on the drive and press play...
