"I asked chatgpt" "I asked grok" ok well I asked fbi special agent fox mulder and he said that his theory is chatgpt is powered by a historical demon referenced in two (2) twelfth century texts that he actually believes is an alien taking the form of technology in order to assimilate better with the modern world and dana scully was also there and she just put her head in her hands and sighed
Substack’s newest subscription model: guilty until proven human. Your move, Substack.
This woman does a pretty good job of explaining what's going with substack's "AI detector" for anyone who currently has or is thinking about starting a substack.
For anyone who wants to buy my books, as of right now my ko-fi page and Kobo (Familiar) (Freelancer) (The Velvet Series) will be the only places to buy them until I can find a way to safeguard them from AI scrapping. You can also request your library purchase them if you use Libby.
A lot of authors (both fiction and non fiction) I follow have shared horror stories about how their writing was stolen by AI and now all of their writing gets flagged as "written by AI" but so-called "AI detectors." Some of them are facing the possibility of ruined careers over it. Which is diabolical and honestly also incredibly stupid.
To anyone who is thinking about publishing on Amazon/Kindle/Google/B&N... I know these are the biggest markets but also the places your book is most likely to get stolen by AI because these companies love LLMs. They do not respect copyright pages. So just be aware.
I know you can opt out of AI scrapping your work on substack, but with their new AI tool... I just don't know. I will of course share any helpful information I find.
If anyone knows about something like nightshade for writing please let everyone know.

I hate that when you’re stressed enough your body just starts falling apart. I think it should realize you’re already stressed and don’t need that and start functioning better actually

Maybe one reason time seems to speed up in adult life is because when your full time job leaves you roughly 5 hours of free time a day plus two days off a week your life turns into a sort of monotony that makes the days blend together and creative pursuits move in slow motion as you can only get to them when other your commitments are done.
When you look back and think damn 2019 wasn’t that long ago where did the time go? Job. Your Job took it.
having my work rejected from a publication makes me feel bad, but then having the editor of said publication subscribe to my substack makes me feel better. i wasn't rejected bc my work was bad, i was rejected bc it wasn't a good fit for that publication and that's okay.

I had to turn off reblogs on my other post bc of hatefulness. Anyway, as you all know (or maybe not) I need to raise $1600USD by July 25 bc of my landlord's dumbassery. Here are all the ways you can help me out:
Buy my books
If you already have them and you liked them, leave a tip
Need something proofread/edited? I gotchu
Can't give a lot right now, but would rather help me in the long term? Subscribe to my paid Substack
I believe in the power of lesbianism! One of my goals has always been to bring hope to other lesbians and your support will keep me writing.
Situation update: the city's housing department has now gotten involved and will be here in September. So hopefully something comes out of that. Doesn't change the fact that I still need 1600USD by the 25th tho!
Also, price drop on my books. The anthology and novel are now $4.99 and the novella is now $1.99.
In case you aren't sure about me! I've made a handy little post for that.
I believe in me. And here's why you should, too. Consider this my formal plea for an assist.
Not to be neurotic and weird, but I can also offer references ¯\_ (ツ)_/¯
I've updated the goal total to reflect people who gave on other platforms, which obviously ko-fi will not display. And we're doing pretty well! One last push and I think we can meet this goal by friday.

one of the most frustrating things about job hunting right now is everyone trying to give you advice and all of the advice is contradictory. And you do your best to follow it all bc you're convinced it's your fault you can't get a job offer. A dozen versions of your resume, spending 45 minutes perfectly tailoring each cover letter, having the most perfect interview skills, and having references/letters of recommendation still get you nowhere.
What if it's not entirely your fault?
What if companies never had any intention to hire?

What if they were actively discriminating against you? Or simply using your resume to train AI? Or building a secret report about you based solely on the LLM's assumptions about you?

Instead of blaming the job hunter, how about we recognize the system that's set up to make them fail.
Normally I like to offer suggestions for paths to solutions, but I don't know how to solve this problem. not on my own.
so. i just learned that my entirely me-written resume flags as being AI-written by automated HR systems for a few writing quirks and the fact that i followed all the rules of good resume writing, which is apparently a telltale sign of AI use in this fucking hellworld. i've been desperately applying to jobs that i am massively overqualified for for months with no response, not even an interview, and now i find out that at least part of the reason is because some fucking moron decided that following the rules every career advisor has given me for a decade means i cheated and should be disqualified. the ai bubble cannot pop soon enough. what the actual fuck.
"frequent use of action-result sentences. bullet points all start with action verbs. no career gaps." girl what the fuck are you talking about. that's just resume writing advice being followed. i just did what i was told. it's a fucking resume. you're supposed to do all that stuff. what the fuck do you mean it looks ai generated and wouldn't pass basic detection systems?????????? for following the resume writing rules????????????

I love it when lesbians talk about being sexually attracted to women. I love it when lesbians talk about boobs and curves and how sexy other women are. I love it when lesbians talk about their sex lives and talk about how fulfilling and satisfying lesbian sex is. It’s so wonderful to not be ashamed about being sexually attracted to women beacuse intimacy between women is just so beautiful!
i cannot stress this enough, sometimes you just need to ask people things. I got $20 off my internet bill and a speed upgrade just because i asked a service rep about something weird on my bill. My babygirls, you need to ask for what you want.
