“You’re goin’ home.”
“What, did my dad die or something? Look, I'm 22. I do what I want, and I can take care of the consequences.”
Remy’s eyes widened in alarm because there were secrets locked away that couldn’t be released to the public. “I’m telling you the truth about myself,” he said, taking a deep breath, “There are cases that I investigate and prove mutants innocent! I only target those that purposely hurt others. I’m not on the mutant’s side and I’m not on the human’s side.”
It was very, very rare to see Remus Williams so angry.
“The whole world is wrong!” he snapped, “What else do you want me to tell you? That I shouldn’t kill the mutant that twists off heads for fun? If you look at my head believe me, you’re going to see a lot of that. Disgusting things not even in horror movies.”
“Sorry, Remus. You must have forgotten who /I/ am. What /I've/ been through. Let me remind you. All mutants face some extent of judgement and hatred all their lives, just because they're different. We are pursued by not only other mutants, but idiot fucking humans who think we shouldn't be allowed the privilege of being alive. Do you like to kill all of the ones that are considered bad? Some of the things they've done aren't their fault. Being this way will change you in ways you could never imagine. Not even in horror movies.”
She stomped up into his face, brown hair flying around her stiff shoulders before she yanked off a glove. Her hand shot up, and-gently turned his face towards hers with her soft, slim fingers. Then, she planted her shaking rosy lips on his tender cheek;
before they both froze, minds tangling as his memories spilled into her like a river of everything he ever knew. The exchange was powerful and overcoming for both parties involved. His life literally flashed before her eyes and his.
Miss what, suga?
A family-do you have one?
Miss who?
“Your friends, your family.”
“It’s not the speed that matters, it’s the experience,” he huffed, “I only hunt the bad mutants. You know, the ones that torture their own kind, kidnap babies, try to blow up cities, and sell other mutants to those little underground rings everyone seems to forget about. It’s not like I’m Elmer Fudd hunting Bugs Bunny. What do you take me for?”
“I won't mince words. I take you for a murderer. Isn't that what you are? Isn't that what you do?” She couldn't help but get a temper as she ran her little interrogation. She felt more kinship to her fellow mutants that she couldn't describe; the good, the bad, and the ugly. It was his job to hunt them, like deer. Her gloved hand, placing her fingertips under his chin and lifting it as she glared. “One more chance, before I learn every single of your secrets. I'm sure you wouldn't want that.”
“I don’t think so, kid. Come with me.”
“With all due respect, what did I even do?”
“Alright, party’s over.”
“Oh, no, sir. It really just started.”
“Why is it so hot in here?”
“…uh, what are you doing?”
“I honestly have no clue.”
“Everything I know? Isn’t that a little broad?” he asked, “That could mean just about anything from my vast knowledge of an introductory Spanish course to how to solve a Rubix Cube in under a minute.”
"I can solve a Rubix Cube in two seconds, and learn a language in one.I was thinking more along the lines of why you kill mutants, which ones you've killed, and who you do it for." Her nostrils flared as she edged ever closer, Staring Remus down and hopefully being intimidating.
Wanna tell me why?
Beets? Who misses vegetables?
No, your family.
Do you ever miss them?
“Look for the record, I wasn’t stalking you,” he said, “I was stalking the person in front of you. You were basically just my shield.”
“Oh, so they must have been a tree standing in front of you as you slurred your way into this rent-a-bed. Hey, how did you even get this job when you can't lie for shit?” Her lanky ivory arms uncrossed as she advanced on the man, standing just far enough to where he could take touch her. Then she began to extend herpalm, brows drawn high. "Anything you wanna tell me before I do this the easy way? This'll give you a headache for like three days. You could just tell me everything you know and save yourself the trouble.”
“Why do ya look so scared ya silly billy!” the young girl giggled as she wrenched the steering wheel of the mercedes benz to the left. “I’m like, a totes great driver!”
“Holy shit, you're really not. I've never been closer to death." Lennox's face was practically green as she gripped the leather strap on the ceiling of the vehicle, trying to get some sense of stability. This damned thing was rocking like a cradle during a hurricane, and she was really questioning the decision of teaching teens to drive.
This belong to someone? If not, I’m selling it.
Yeah, it does. You took it right out of my hand.
