First post this year lol
You should always cannibalize your friends.
ASPD is thinking if people give a shit less like us, we could be one step closer to world peace. Literally, just, mind your own damn business
ASPD Culture is
The amount of times I’ve said this to my friends is insane.
This isn't a submission but I just wanted to ask what's the difference between a sociopath and a psychopath? I don't mean to be disrespectful and I know this question probably sounds dumb as hell but due to the stigma surrounding aspd you literally cannot do proper research on the internet =(
(just saw this, sorry!) im not completely sure, but i think both are just words used by people who don't understand ASPD to be dicks. It's just ASPD. if anyone has anything to add on to, feel free to comment
Psychopath is the original term, antisocial was used early as well (it is not a ‘politically correct’ version it’s literally just a different word), later, people started using sociopath to mean the theory that psychopathy related to environmental and social factors, however sociopath has fallen out of use and mostly antisocial and psychopath are used (if one wants to differentiate between environmental and genetics, these days primary and secondary are used). Also, sociopath was a term in the first DSM to describe an externalising disorder without saying cause (it also included other random shit not just PDs or anything). Antisocial and psychopath are sometimes interchangeable, but often antisocial is used to mean like broadly anti-society tendencies or behaviour, such as criminal behaviour (and also general poor impulse control), and psychopath is a specific kind of antisocial personality involving also a lack of empathy. So, all psychopaths are antisocial, not all antisocials are psychopaths, and sociopath isn’t used anymore. Originally when ASPD (“sociopathic personality disturbance - antisocial reaction”) was added in the first DSM it was basically psychopathy in description but definitions expanded.
I wish more people either understood or asked. Personally I like explaining things like this and really don’t mind the questions if they’re genuine
my experience with having both NPD and ASPD involves not caring what anyone thinks of me, whilst simultaneously feeling that if you perceive me incorrectly or view me as beneath you then i hate you.
aspd culture is oh whoops i genuinely don't perceive you as having emotions
ASPD Culture is
aspd culture is never being able to fully unmask, even around people who know you have it
aspd culture is the constant lingering thought that you can never let anyone ever see who you Really are. Or Else.
ASPD Culture is
ASPD is being called ‘edgy’ just for displaying literal symptoms of your disorder.
Hate this one
"Empathy is what makes us human" Dawg you caught me I'm secretly a platypus
Lmao
i think something people without npd dont understand is that the anger we feel isnt fun. the anger we feel hurts us too. it feels fucking horrible to be filled with so much spite and rage and not know what to do with it. and in that moment it feels like your entire life youve been angry
aspd + autism culture is: I don't just think I'm better than you, I know for a fact that I'm better than the vast majority of people. I've spent my entire life learning, thinking critically about everything, completely unafraid of not fitting in and having unpopular opinions. I don't want to just be right, I want be right because I have factual proof that I am. If I'm wrong I admit it and learn so I know better. I'll show some respect to people that show they're nearly as intelligent as I am, because I want people to be intelligent so the world is a better place, so I fucking hate stupid people, those that refuse to improve themselves, that don't question authority and uphold the status quo.
ASPD Culture is
Soemtimes wonder if I’m too logical to be a complete narcissist. Because factually, someone is smarter than me, but also, there’s no way I’m as stupid as everyone else.
I still think it’s crazy that I never considered the fact that I might have ASPD. I had all the misconceptions and stigmatized versions of psychopaths in my head (which I now realize I relate to) and never thought about it. However, I was talking to someone who is open about being a sociopath and he knows I make “cruel” jokes toward people. Anyway, one time, I was talking about how I had just thrown a dead animal across the road next to my house and I had a video of it if he wanted to see. He then asked me a few questions and told me I educate myself in what ASPD is. Since then I’ve felt more comfortable about my homicidal ideology and general misanthropy. Even though I wasn’t technically diagnosed I was eventually lead to the hare psychopathy test during a talk with my psychology teacher and he was mostly curious about what I would score. I ended with a 42 out of 44 which is higher than the other shared scores which were around three to five. Kinda just felt like sharing this but if my life since it was a unique time for me. Idk if this is a good read or not go fuck yourself. Prick.
ASPD culture is not realizing you're antisocial for yeeeeears because you were completely isolated for all your preteen years, and even now, the only people you really interact with for more than a couple minutes (without getting annoyed with) are the characters in your head (whose lives literally revolve around you). Honestly, should have realized way sooner.

No shame tbh this disorder is not talked about enough for you to have known without actively seeking it out. I found out about it when I read the word soci*path and wanted to know what it meant, found the popular definition weird (at the time it was “someone who does not feel any positive emotions but fakes them to seem normal”) but a little too real and looked into it further before presumably since I entirely forgot about it, my system cut off that line of thinking.
That was ~11-12 years ago now, and when I came back to the concept later (around 2020) it was based off my realization that empathy was a real thing so I found ASPD more easily than through the stigmatized term. It’s a process trying to find anything out about this damn disorder (though easier now than when I was in high school).
Plain text (including uncensored ableist term) below the cut:
My ex and I still talk regularly because she knows it’s my disorder making me unable to have a functional romantic relationship but she still likes me as a person. It’s been like that for a year and today we agreed to have a friendly sexual relationship instead :)
ASPD Culture is being told, "So you do have empathy" or "You do care"
First of all, no.
Second of all, I was just being nice??? I didn't actually care about it, I'm just being nice for the sake of acting normal.
