āYou donāt want to be my girlfriend.ā
āI already said that.ā
āBut you want to be myāmy something else?ā
Eddieās breath catches. Her eyes fly open, stinging and damp.
She doesnāt answer. Her throat constricts, trapping breath inside, trapping a response inside. Silently, she prays to a god sheās not sure she believes in that the floor will open up and swallow her whole. She canāt hear him say what she thinks heās about to say; she canāt hear it, not even once. She canāt come back from that. She justāshe canāt.
Buck pushes on, hesitant. ā...My boyfriend?ā
OR
Eddie doesnāt know how to be the man his heart yearns to be. Buck waits for him to learn.
Eddie Diaz; who sees Buck as free chaos. Cuts, cracks and imperfections displayed for everybody to see. Effortlessly perfect, fun, human. Buck wakes up late in the morning and heās still on time to work because his hair looks fineā good even, bedhead messy. He can just go to work like that. It does something twisty to Eddieās stomach.
He loves Buckās smile lines and all the creases on his face because it shows that Buck has truly lived a life. Especially knowing how hard that life has been for him, seeing the physical proof of joy printed right there on his face, itās perfect.
He loves his uneven hoodie strings he canāt be bothered to fix because itās fine, theyāre just hoodie strings. His shoelaces that come untied every so often because he rushes to tie them and double knotting is annoying.
He loves the way he fumbles over his words, the way he says āum,ā in every other sentenceā sometimes more than that. The way he thinks while heās speaking instead of before he opens his mouth.
But most of all, he loves the way the chaos simmers when theyāre alone together. The way Buckās face looks when heās relaxed in sleep. The way Buckās presence is so powerful that he can still feel him so clearly without hearing his voice. He loves how it feels to just be there with him, to have him.
Evan Buckley; who thinks that if Eddie didnāt hang the moon, he mightāve crafted the whole thing himself. As far as Buck is concerned, Eddie has never been late to work in his life. Except for when he had to be, because of Chris, but that didnāt count because Eddie has priorities and everyone knows that.
He loves the way Eddieās hair falls so perfectly every day, the way it always looks nice even after a long day. He loves how much Eddie knows, how much heās seen. Well, he hates that Eddie has had to see so much, but at the same time, heās never met anyone as smart as him.
He loves the way that Eddie is perfect at work, the way he always knows what to say. He always knows how to fix the problems, there is nothing he hasnāt done. As far as he can tell, thereās not a single conversation Eddie hasnāt had either, because all of his words come out smooth and confident as if it was rehearsed.
And he loves the way he can make Eddieās cheeks run a deep red, the way his eyes go wide and full of love when heās searching for something to say back. The way his hair looks when he falls asleep by accident and wakes up disoriented and dazed, his face slightly puffy.
They love when they find pieces of themselves in each other.
Michael's and Bobby's friendship is so fucking funny and my absolute favorite friendship in the show. Michael "I love my ex-wife's new husband" Grant and Bobby "OUR kids" Nash. Found family made by divorce. Incredible.
just read an incredible fic by kryptonian on ao3, hockey buddie! :)
not posting any links to it because he hasnāt posted about it here i donāt think and iād rather be respectful. not totally sure about the etiquette for this kind of thing?? sorry!!! but if youāre familiar with her or her work (or if your not) i would definitely check it out. super good read
A little more of the sequel to Grace Period, where Eddie returns from Texas but can't afford the rent so he and Buck come to an "arrangement."
And now Eddie has a whole different problem. Part of him certainly likes the prospect of four blowjobs from Buck. Even though heās sitting at the kitchen tableāwhere he feeds his childāhis cock perks up fast, like heās seventeen again.Ā
But another part of him, the Eddie Diaz who hugged a doppelganger of his dead wife and through a chain of events entirely of his own making now has a $29.72 balance in his checking account, is asking can he have this? Does he deserve it?Ā
He thinks too long before typing again. He knows Buckās in the living room sweating bullets. The TV isnāt on, and Eddie doesnāt even hear any rustling. Finally he decides what he has to say.
Eddie:
Buck. You have to let me earn it.Ā
Buckās reply this time is much faster.Ā
Buck:Ā
ur gonna earn it
