nobody tells you when you start to work on a writing project—and happen to be an overthinker—and you get so engrossed in it you start to over complicate the plot and interiority of the characters to the point you’re worried it’s so boring.

Like, I’m writing this lonexbutch fic right now and the first half is about them growing up in the vault but my brain wants to over complicate the plot and their inner motives so bad and I’m like. Why can’t she have a crush and that it’s. She’s only 10 years old, it doesn’t have some inner philosophy does it. ……But my brain can’t help to think it DOES have to be!! Bc how else can the reader be engaged???

Therefore her crush HAS to be rooted in her constant desire for validation and approval from everyone in her life so the fact she can’t get it from this ONE boy drives her to the point of obsession and therefore a crush!!! But also, why can’t she just be 10 and find a boy cute. Idk
