Making exercises more accessible to the disabled? Fuck yeah!
Took me a long ass time to understand this.

Broke: I’m hauling groceries on foot because I ate a cookie and need to burn calories
Woke: FUCKING WATCH ME FLEX THESE LEGS AND CARRY HEAVY SHIT UPHILL BECAUSE I’M STRONK HAHAHAHAAA YOU WEENIES DRIVING TWO BLOCKS IN AN SUV CAN KISS MY VERY MUSCULAR ASS
Where’s that video of that woman with a heavy accent lifting weights and saying, “I don’t work out to look pretty I work out to look like bitch who fights bear in the forest!!”
a secret they dont tell you is that you dont need to have a set time and place for exercise. sure going to the gym is gonna give you a more dedicated workout but like if you're physically able to you can just jog on the spot while your food is cooking. brushing your teeth? do a couple of squats. sometimes i drop to the floor and plank until my arms hurt and then go on with my day. if you live a sedentary lifestyle its better than nothing.
SERVICE DOG PSA
So today I tripped. Fell flat on my face, it was awful but ultimately harmless. My service dog, however, is trained to go get an adult if I have a seizure, and he assumed this was a seizure (were training him to do more to care for me, but we didn’t learn I had epilepsy until a year after we got him)
I went after him after I had dusten off my jeans and my ego, and I found him trying to get the attention of a very annoyed woman. She was swatting him away and telling him to go away. So I feel like I need to make this heads up
If a service dog without a person approaches you, it means the person is down and in need of help
Don’t get scared, don’t get annoyed, follow the dog! If it had been an emergency situation, I could have vomited and choked, I could have hit my head, I could have had so many things happen to me. We’re going to update his training so if the first person doesn’t cooperate, he moves on, but seriously guys. If what’s-his-face could understand that lassie wanted him to go to the well, you can figure out that a dog in a vest proclaiming it a service dog wants you to follow him

I appreciate this video a lot--people don't realize how important it is to start slow if you're trying to come back from a completely sedentary lifestyle, and they get really hurt as a result. Straining your muscles too much, too suddenly can land you in the E.R. and the wrong joint injury can permanently affect your mobility, so please start with absolute basics and easy stretches!
How people can mistakenly think or just subconsciously feel food works: there are “unhealthy” foods like pizza or fried chicken and “healthy” foods like fruit salad or steamed vegetables. Every time you eat an “unhealthy” food you’ve harmed yourself in some way.
How food actually works: foods contain carbs, proteins, fats, sugars, vitamins, minerals, fiber and/or other nutrients. Your body needs and uses all of them but it would like to have a little of everything every day. If you ate pizza or fried chicken for lunch then that’s probably your fat and protein for the day with extra that your body will make use of in time, so it’s a good idea to make your next meal something different like that fruit salad or steamed veggies. You can have that fatty lunch every single day if you just maintain balance and stay active enough to actually use what you’re stocking up on because foods aren’t “good or bad;” they just either fit into the rest of your diet and lifestyle or they don’t.
Thanks, OP.
also your body doesn’t necessarily work on a daily cycle, it’s not so neat as to understand linear time and how we choose to divide it. You don’t have to try and find perfect balance every single day, sometimes you will go three or four days eating less or eating more. Sometimes you will crave fats or salts or sugars or greens for a few days at a time before your body will decide it’s gathered enough resources in one particular department. The balance is achieved over time and in uneven tides, and that’s good and fine.
Original post has been going around for years now but this fairly recent addition is a really good one I needed to be reminded of too. We don’t just reset to 0 every night.
So many people who get periods are like “Ugh it sucks that having a menstrual cycle makes you almost die every month” like no that’s not normal you need to go to the doctor
If any of your symptoms go beyond “just like, super annoying ugh whatever” levels you should probably go see a doctor about that
You should not feel so depressed you want to die, you should not be getting mood swings so bad that you become violent, your cramps should not be so bad that you can’t get out of bed, your period should not last more than a week, you should not be losing so much blood that you feel dizzy. Go to the doctor.
If your doctor doesn’t listen to you, tell them that someone in your life was worried about it and told you to go. Your boyfriend, your mom, your roommate, whatever. And don’t be afraid to ask for a second opinion. You don’t have to live like this. You shouldn’t have to live like this. Extreme agony isn’t just par for the course of owning a uterus. That’s unusual. Go to the doctor.
Also, if your Primary Care Physician for whatever reason doesn't feel comfortable doing reproductive stuff (which like, they should be comfortable with that, but 'should be' and 'are' are two very different things), if they deny your symptoms/their severity, if you are for whatever reason not comfortable with them handling your reproductive care, then go see an OBGYN. Almost all insurance does not require a referral to see an OBGYN, so unless your insurance plan is quite out of the ordinary, you do not need your PCP's permission to see an OBGYN.
See an OBGYN! this is their whole area of expertise. And if the OBGYN you see sucks, go see a different one for a second opinion.
You CAN do deep squats, my friend!
I’ve seen a few of this guys vids (the pullup one most recently) floating around now and i cannot tell you how much i love them.
there’s so much emphasis on getting in shape and exercising, but it all just assumes that everyone can already do these exercises to begin with.
you need to build up your body’s muscles first and i will forever rage that PE/Gym class never teaches kids how
this man’s a pure blessing for breaking these exercises down to easier steps
